It's better then having your own private library, cause any subject you want, is at your fingertips.

I just learned some basic facts about wine....some had been told to me by a "wine expert" (which I just confirmed) and learned some new facts in the process.....hehe, I love it.

I'm one of those people that don't like to 'quote' something unless I'm sure about it.....

and it usually takes two or three sources at minimum before I believe it.

Did you know that Champagne is actually made from red grapes?

Take the skins off.....it's the skins that determine the color.

and according to what I learned.....you CAN'T make red or rose wine from white grapes.

Ok....my lesson for today.....feel free to share what you learn.....this is not a thread about wine.

But,you can make Rose wine from red AND white grapes.

And roses.

When I think of the years I studied flickinng through pages in unindexed books. Even having to read books 95% of which were crap, the internet is a learning tool which was undreamed of in my day.
One of the greatest blessings, I believe, is the imminent death of the "canonical", in which a particular idea, or person, or text is held up to be a model of excellence, blinding us to all the other superb offerings around.
On the internet, my searches do not discriminate between the famous professor, 30 years into tenure and Riff. I am free to judge what I read on its import for me.
I anticipate that this will change the face of academia radically in the years to come.

I didn't know that about champagne moonwolf!
