And I thought, as we were lectured, that the volume of the insured was going to make greater profits for the insurer...

Except that in an audit, my wife's employer learned that I was back in the workforce so they are forcing me out of their plan (even though my 14 year-old gets to stay on it for 12 more years) and into my employer's plan, which is quite an increase in price. I thought I got to keep my insurance. Even my doctor decided to retire early and raise horses.

Yes, I'm sure they're "forcing" you out of the plan. :nods:

I know, I know, that's your story and you're sticking with it.

Congratulations on finding a job, though. That alone puts you head and shoulders above your layabout hardcore unemployed RWCJ friends here.

You gotta admit your truthiness on this board is more than a little suspect.
:nods:

Actually, Rob, his truthfulness may not be all that suspect. If my husband opts out of his insurance plan in favor of being covered under mine, I pay an extra
200 $ per month in addition to my premiums. This is not to cover insurance, this is a penalty, as it were, for deciding to keep all our health insurance in one basket. They will, however, waive the penalty if he can prove his employer does not offer insurance.

<inset snarky insult here>

Yeah, that sounds like my employer's insurance too, it's got four tiers: single, single-parent with kids, full family (spouse not covered through job) and full family (spouse covered through job).

The pricing, however, is solely the insurance company's decision, and has absolutely nothing to do with Obamacare, the Chief's blather to the contrary notwithstanding.

The quicker we get to single payer, the better off everyone will be!!

It's all about perspective. These 'penalties' were no where to be seen pre-Obamacare. So why do our employers suddenly discourage us from covering our spouses by imposing a fee that does not go to cover premiums? To paraphrase an old Clairol commercial, Only the insurance companies and the government know for sure.

you are INSANE!

Hmmmm I just had to submit paperwork including tax returns regarding my health insurance plans last week. Never had to do it before. They claim it is to verify my dependents are eligible. My wife does work full time but opts out of her plan to be covered under mine. Guess I'll find out what happens soon.

I disagree, I've had this sort of tiered-coverage since way back in the Dark Days of Dubya™. I'm of the opinion that this is little more than capitalism at work, insurance companies gaming the system to increase profits.

I meant YOU having or trying to have a conversation with the "I MUST PROTECT DA NIGGER AT ALL COSTS NO MATTER WHAT", RobertSouth:rolleyes:

Hitlercat would like a word with you...

As I said, it's all about perspective. This type of tiered coverage is completely new here in the last 2 years. I found the additional fee offensive, to be honest.

Americans will bed over and take it up the ass as they always do because we value nice more than health, wealth, or liberty.

Pig eyed sack of shit.
