I just cleaned out a sewer line. What a metaphor for life!

My sewer line from the kitchen was clogged, so rather than call a plumber, I rented a 50 foot electric snake. Talk about tedious, back breaking work.

When I'm done my kithen sink drain will flow smoothly and I will remember to be careful what I put down the garbage disposal. I have a 3/4 horse diposal with a delicate digestive system.

(Just think about how this applies to life). I am doing this myself becase I know that I can and will do the job. I got some safety instructions and I read and followed them. I'm on a break, now, after 50 feet in.

I have spent the past 8 years cleaning my own sewer lines. I have remembered what clogs the pipes to my heart and mind. I know what to do if it happens again , And I know what to do to keep the system flowing well.

This will sound wierd, but I didnt know you could do it yourself. Thanks for telling me that.

But I posted here to agree with you about doing it on your own,and knowing it will get done and will be done right. Thats what I have always thought.

I hope that your job continues to go well.

You lucky son-of-a-gun. A couple of months ago I got a heavy industrial snake stuck in my sewer pipes. A couple of holes and a hacksaw blades later I was able to cut the end off and back it out. This was only about two weeks after I attempted to put the 50-cent washers in the shower valve, during which time I twisted the shower valve to pieces and had to pay a plumber $500 to tear some more holes (in the wall this time). Sometimes the Great Mother Spirit tries to give us subtle little hints to show us where our true talents lie; other times She hits us over the head with a f*cking 2x4. I wish you the best of luck. Don't ask me; I no longer do plumbing!

(Hope this isn't a metaphor for my life)
