I just accidentally gave an article a score. I wonder how common that is?

Don’t worry, anyone here, it was a 15 year old article in the writers resource area and I’m private messaging laurel asking for it to be fixed, but it scared me for two reasons. One, it was easy to do (on my phone), and two, there was no way to change it afterwards either. (In my case, I gave it three stars by accident, when I meant not to score it at all.)

It made me wonder how often that happens though.

Often enough and, truly, I wouldn’t worry.

:)

I've done it on accident. If it's a decent story, I give it a five. *shruggin* writing is hard, man.

Also, I like your signature, OP.

In my case, I was *meaning* to scroll up when I saw the star ratings instead changing. By then my fingers were already moving off the screen, so too late.

I agree, probably not the biggest issue here, but still I felt bad. Oh and thanks for the sig comment!

I've done this. It's easy to do, especially if you are reading stories on a phone. I wouldn't worry about it.

Ive managed to do it on stories I haven't read. Once that lead me to reading the story out of guilt, but I realized after the fact that it solved nothing and only made me more frustrated when I decided it wasn't worth my five 🤗

Note to all authors: This would probably happen less if we write more than one Lit page 🙃

Didn't one bomb but...

I once read a story in Loving Wives that literally had pages after pages of the mc crying and snivelling after his wife cheated on him and left for another dude.

I read the first chapter (about 3 pages) and the next (3 pages, I think) and then the last one (another 3 pages). I was reading in the hopes of discovering some salvation for the time I'd already wasted while reading that story. Is there revenge? Redemption!?

The end, which I don't remember exactly, was something so disappointing that I was shocked. I felt trolled. I just read 9 Lit pages and wasted my time only to realise there was no conclusion. The guy kept on crying, drinking and then crying some more.

I polished my voting finger for revenge. No Lit story had made me regret my decision to this extent.

I accidentally swiped a 5*.

Normally I wouldn't sweat over it but that troll of a story... Makes my insides clench whenever I think about it.

It happened years ago but I somehow still feel disappointed by my hand-eye coordination.
I feel your pain. To me, there’s a time and a place for a submit button. This is one of those times.
