The new President's Chief of Staff, has continued what is being described on the news as a 'food fight' from the White House at a popular radio talk show Host, Rush Limbaugh.

It has prompted me to write new lyrics for an old song I wrote back when Clinton was in office and scurry to have it voiced and back and on Lulu.com for download to your Ipods, asap.

Do I hope, (and pray), that this administration fails and fails miserably? You bet your sweet pretty ass, oops, she might be listening, I do!

And no, it is not just his policies that I hope will fail, it is the smooth tongued bastard, empty suit politician aura that I detest and wish to see dragged through the mud.

That and the 'Chicago Political Machine' politics, the corruption he surrounded himself with and the Black Militant organizations that supported him on the order of 97 our of every 100 black voters.

That and the ten percent of Conservatives that broke ranks during the General Election, not knowing those numbers would account for the margin of victory; to those I would especially enjoy urinating down their backs and telling them it was just raining.

Fail? You bet your Limbaugh! Go Rush!

Amicus...

It's all a distraction:
Wall Street in the dumpster? Pick on Rush!
Unemployment climbing? Pick on Rush!

Anything to distract the masses from what the new policies are making worse is useful. :D

I'm simply flabbergasted that you hold this view. Simply bowled over in shock.

Yeah, sure you are, irony and sarcasm always appreciated...and DP, yup, heard that also and it may well be...but if so...it ain't gonna work. Latest I heard was a breaking of the ranks in the Democrat side of the Senate, a defeat requiring a committee re-write of the budget, would severely injure this far left administration.

Ami

We can only hope it's true.
So far Obama has spent more than anyone in the history of the world.

Hasn't "spent" it yet, sport. Won't it be interesting if what you see him doing about all of those pork projects that were put in the stimulous bill is simply not executing the projects? Congress can authorize, but it's the executive department that actually executives the authorization (hence the name)--and can (and often does) simply not implement. Those who have a simplistic view of what happens in Washington don't seem to understand the way the government actually functions (or doesn't).

Now it could be Obama will wimp out on this (I've expressed fear about that myself on the forum), but he has the power to pick and choose what programs are implemented (and, guess what, Bush did a lot of this while in office).

Regardless, you're running ahead of both the horse and the wagon on your statement here--and with the sort or Limbaughish glee that clearly shows that you put your political agenda ahead of the welfare of America. It's this bald revelation that, I think, is what is threatening to throw the Republican party (under the Limbaugh flag) into the minority for some time to come. You're simply missing the boat if you don't understand that the sense of the people at the moment is to pull us out of this Bush administration-created mess.

Yea sport, $36 billion a day, from where?

I love they way the usual suspects keep avoiding Clintons part in this cluster fuck.

Who changed the mortgage rules? Clinton
Whos former staffers ran Fannie and Freddie through 2004 and padded the books to get some $160 million in bonuses?

Wasn't that Barney Frank that refused to allow any changes in the mortgage rules when Bush wanted them in 02?

Keep your blinders on sr

Excuse me. You didn't even read what I posted, did you? You've been sitting there next to the Treasurer of the United States and watched $36 billion dollars a day get hauled out of the building and disappear somewhere?

I just love listening to people from out in the provinces assume they know how Washington works. Simplemindedness is so comforting. :D

If you think Obama won't spend every penny Pelosi and Reed give him you belong in an institution.
He has to spend it to create the big Govt he wants.

As if you even had a clue, criminy!

We know where the money is going, it is all over the tube, another Bridge to Nowhere, this time in Missouri, (Misery) ah laks ta call it, Union Labor only, thank you, and lets not give any 'Stimulus money' to St. Louis, hell they are already in the bag, let's go for the hinterlands.

It should come as no surprise, they told us all in the campaign, help the Unions, help the Teachers, tax the rich and the poor alike, increase the size of government, meddle in education and energy, let DC run the country.

Turns out to be not as easy as you thought, eh?

Amicus...

God, it's delicious watching you guys hyperventilate over this. :D

Hey Ami...have you ever been a contractor for the US govt or an employee for the US govt?

I have been both.

While I don't agree with alot of Obamas policies...I got to say this....I hope he does NOT fail with withgards to reveiwing contractors.

I have worked my ass off in the private sector...but when I was doing THE SAME JOB for the gov't...I maybe worked 10% what I did in the private sector.

Not only that...most of the folks working for gov't in my field were total fuck ups.

I don't want him to fail.

I don't agree with with everything he doing....but GOD DAMMIT..we need to get the fuck up bastards out of the everyday govt positions.

Just thinking about it makes me wanna puke.

Reviewing contractors and 'no bid' contracts, is not as simple as one may think. Offtimes there is but one private company who can/will bid, like the Halliburton thing and the private contractor, 'Black Water', I think it was called, few private entrepreneurs willing go into a combat zone to do business.

Waste in government is a built in, known quantity, which is why they fought over large or small government way back in 1776, we know that corruption breeds in the dank halls of politics and wish to minimize the effect.

I think it might be best for the country at large if this administration fails early, because as outrageous as it may seem to some, many are ready to take arms, refuse to pay taxes and boycott government and thas not a good thing for anyone....but if it comes to that...count me among the willing.

Amicus...

I agree that there's a whole heck of a lot of money to be saved by taking a closer look at the use of and dealings with contractors.

I specifically would like to see an investigation into Dick Cheney and Halliburton contracts.

Everyone says ...look at No bids....

BULLSHIT!

Most contracts are held by a 2 or 3 contractors. they are in bed together.

IT IS A FUCKING SCAM!!!

but suppose another contractor wins out on the bid....do you think that they actually bring in different people?

GUESS AGAIN!!!!

Nothing changes...except for the name of the check to pay these assholes.

The same old fuck ups keep their jobs. They just become employees of another compny fucking you and me....

Unless you have have been there....you would never believe.

I am ashamed that I was actually a part of it.

I second that motion.

I fear that the Limbaugh'en retoric has caused the Right Wing to loose what was left of their narrow little minds. If we didn't revolt against Bush/Cheney how are you going to get a critical mass to stage a revolution over a mere $787 Billion?

I for one think it is treason to hope the country fails. Sorry, but I believe that Americans by and large ( Maybe 90%) believe it too.

I stand behind Pirate on the Cluster Fuck on the Potomac (Congress) but when he calls for the failure of the Country, I think he should turn in his Dolphins, give up his Navy pension and move the fuck to where ever he can find that will take a Traitor turn coat.

Sadly this is what comes from the MSM talking about assholes like Rush. Good people are subverted by the weasel words of that idiot.

Rush is like Amicus, he's only looking out for #1. The more exposure he gets the better his ratings and the more money he makes. If we just let him rant and ignored him, as he deserves, he's be left with a dwindling audience.

Don't be ashamed, Misty, it is government...thas the way it works ahm or doesn't work, actually...

Every representative, every senator in DC, comes from a particular State with particular needs; they represent their district, which is what they are supposed to do.

They get elected by campaigning, spending money to campaign and making promises to those who contributed to their campaigns, nothing new since the country began, those who helped a candidate reach office want a pay back.

They get it in hundreds of ways, by hiring from their own State, those to become Federal employees in the 'Game', the big league. There is, by the nature of the beast, much wheeling and dealing and trading that takes place as a matter of protocol, again, that is the nature of government, the way it works, must work in a representational form.

Democracy is a messy affair to be sure, as someone said, but it is the best we have.

The problem with most who learned skills in the business world, is that you must succeed to continue getting a paycheck or they will hire someone who can. In government it is not success that is the measure, rather the amount of 'sucking up' you can do and the amount of money you can steal and waste without being caught.

Again, that is why, time and time again, those of us who know the workings of government insist on the minimum possible.

So buck up lassie, this too will pass....:rose:

I look on it as treasonous too--not because it's a natural opposition, just as there was a heavily idological vocal opposition to the Bush administration--but because it shows the "I" as more important than the "we" as you note and also because it is the lower road (much lower) approach in time of genuine "everyone's in this boat" crisis. I think the higher road would be to out "concern" and out "roll up our sleeves and pitch in" the Democrats if they could (and they could at least give the Democrats a run for their money on this, because there are a hell of a lot of "I" Democrats too).

As it is, as you say, they (and Amicus and others here) have, I think, completely misjudged what the people of the country want to see happening. And even the Republican faithful seem to recognize this in their attempt today to paint the Limbaugh "hope he fails" thing as a clever ploy created by the Democratic party strategists.

I don't relish seeing either of the major parties going so far into the void as not to be able to act as a check on the other party. But I think this is what the Republicans are doing to themselves by misjudging what a vast majority of the people think of Rush Limbaugh and his outrageous views.

Curious, just six weeks or so into this mess and opponents are called 'traitors?'

Egads, how the 'usual suspects' squealed when they were categorized as, 'unAmerican', as indeed they were and are.

I can almost 'sense' the panic setting in amongst the followers of the Messiah as the far left agenda begins to meet resistance in the world beyond political campaigns.

meh...;)

This isn't simple opposition, Amicus. Simple opposition would be "that is the wrong way to approach it; this is the better road." This is a flat, bald call to welcome collapse to save and justify personal "I told you so" "face" without a hint of trying to save society. I'm not the least bit surprised that you can't see that--because as others have pointed out this has been your disgusting approach all along.

Luckily, the citizenry is going to reject this and keep trying to pull together to get us out of this mess. Because those are the true Americans, in contrast to you and the Rush Limbaughs of the world.

And what's really hilarious is that you and the Bush people were wrapping yourselves in the flag and calling any opposition treason last year at this time. How two-faced you are.

(I hope the little girl on your lap has had her rabies shot.)

You really are low class sr71...the dregs, the muck and mud of the perverts here.

Tell ya one thing bucko, you try to conscript, force into national service, that little girl, as the Messiah threatens, then you will have me and fifty million others in the streets carrying more than signs.

Take that to the bank.

Amicus...

I love how you guys are hyperventilating in your powerless frustration over this. :D

And putting the picture of a little girl in an Avatar on a porn site--Puleeze, don't talk to me about low class and sleazy, buster.

(By the way, your "tell ya one thing" paragraph doesn't make a lick of sense.)
