While only 11.67% of people think that human sexual orientation can be completely described by the 2-dimentional, color-coded grid-index of the modifed kinsey-scale, 67.7% believe that orientation is 28.4% deterministically ordained by endocrinological mechanisms.

42.11% of those surveyed (uncertainty +/- 3%) stated that my occasional desire to have a load of another man's semen on my face means that I am at least a class-3 modified "bi" with a marginal kink index of between 5a and 8d. Meanwhile, 20.2% think I may have sub-gamma latent buggery indicators, but 48% of those think that I have a 33.3% chance of being in denial about this.

I, on the other hand, kind of think most of the time that labels are essentailly about politics and group identity, which is neither good nor bad. I am of the vague opinion that human sexuality is fluid and unpredictable, and the desire to box it in with science and lables is hopeless Modernism. A certain number of people may agree with me, at least partly, at least some of the time. Who knows.

In sum: human beings determine the desirability of a particular sex act with a particular person, in the same way that US Federal judges identify obsenity: they know it when they see it. That is all. Everything else is pseudo-science, hand-waving, and identity politics.

I heard...

...46.7% of all statistics are made up on the spot.:p

Karuna...

...I didn't totally understand all of the numbers that you had in the first few paragraphs, but I agree with what you said at the end. Fitting everyone into labels, is very modernistic, and I'll be honest, has caused my own share of confusion & self-prescribed grief over my sexual interests.

Labels are for cans of food, not people.

Ironically that sort of talk reminds me of Fundamentalist "Christians."

Science is neither positive nor negative in and of itself. It's what you do with it that makes it good or bad.
