Hang around a bit and get to know the folks and let them get to know you. You'll have more luck than you will as a newbie.

Even using a program like Word which has a dumb ass grammar program, it is aimed at business letters, will help some and it does have a pretty good spell checker. There is also a spell checker for posts here if you use FireFox.
