I have news!

Oh wow I missed this thread but got it from your blurt post that day. Anyway lots og hugs and congrats officially.:rose::heart:

I've had some rough days lately...and been in some dark places, but this is truly wonderful news to hear. I try not to bother my Gods, but I will give a prayer for you and your child to Freya.

I don't smile....but this made me.

:) :rose:

Can we please agree of the right time zone ?.
Greenwich, from which all others are taken, perhaps ?

I think we're all waiting patiently for Mac to set up the poll for the contest. It should be the time zone Mac is in and all else is fair game for guessing. I think the winner should get a pic of Mom, Dad and Baby as soon after everyone gets prettied up again.

Baby will be born in MDT, which is -7 GMT.

It's like a little green Michelin man! :D

Thanks again to all the well-wishers. Pregnancy is going great so far! I'm into my second trimester now and feeling a little bit more energy, thank heavens! I think this means I may make it past 8:30 PM for bedtime!  :)

Update: 12/20/09

This week, I started to feel the baby kick! :) So strange to think of that little mite inside of me, alive and apparently throwing a party even as I type this... :D

Don't know the gender yet, but will know at the next ultrasound scheduled for three weeks from now.

Meanwhile, lots of other stuff going on, not the least of which is a major move from Boise to Denver. Will fly back to Boise for ultrasound and final appointment with current baby doc; if anyone reading this is in the Denver area and knows of any good OBGYNs, let me know please!

Keep forgetting it's Christmas, but then, I feel like I've already got my present -- just won't be able to "open" him up for another 5 months!

Ok, who wants to know?!

I know there's been some talk on this thread of holding a baby weight/birthdate/gender pool, but I'm not here enough to host it. So... shall I just spill the news and tell you what the gender is?!

I'd rather guess myself. I'm just so happy everything is going well for you and baby. Whatever you choose to do is just fine with me.

Oh wow, I don't know how I missed this the first time around. Congratulations!

Thanks, Sgt W.!

Lance, I made an announcement on Facebook, so those who know me well now know the gender. If anyone else here cares to know, just PM me, otherwise I'll refrain from posting it here at Lit!

Baby is doing fantastic despite our very recent move from Boise to Denver and the general upheaveal of our lives. I was so worried! But baby's heart and kidneys, tummy and innards all look good, as does baby's skeletal structure. I'm so pleased. One less thing to worry about!

I can only hope someone puts up a poll. With everything good with the baby, that makes for a happy Mommy and that's a very good thing.:)

Congrats. May I offer a suggestion to those who know you well: best place to buy funny bibs and onesies (at least to me) is cafe press. Generally, when co-workers of mine have the happy occassion happen it's where my colleagues and I go. Very easy to cusomize.

Sorry, didn't mean for this to be an add. Congrats and enjoy the bundle of joy! :D

Have not been around in so long that I had missed this thread. Congratulations, McK!!:heart:

Damn, I take a few years off and lo and behold!

McK is back and preggers.

Congratuations!

The Final Countdown

Eight more weeks and baby will be here! All is still going well, it's been a very, very healthy pregnancy with no complications; baby is in the 77th percentile for height and weight, (so far as they can tell these things from an ultrasound, anyway). I'm starting to worry about my mom's horror stories of delivering my 9 lb, 14 oz brother.

Baby's room is finished, and except for a few smaller purchases, I think we have everything we need. I've sewed, crocheted, and knitted more in the last nine months than I have in years! It's been good to succumb to those nesting instincts though.

In other news, I cut off 12 inches of my hair, a symbolic gesture for me. When I was still a teenager I told my family I wasn't going to cut my hair until I had my first baby. Except for a few trims through the years, I kept to my word. Cutting my hair symbolized all the changes I'm going through, and all the changes I've yet to go through as I adapt to my role of "mother." Also, this way baby has less to grab and yank! ;)

Now I'm just waiting for maternity leave and/or labor to start, and trying not to be too impatient about it. Not easy! Can't wait to hold my little one in my own arms.

Wonderful news!

Try to get lots of sleep now, as much as you can. And don't listen to horror stories. Times have changed from when your mom delivered!

Your birthing situation will be unique and special and you'll rise to the occasion and manage it splendidly.

So happy for you! :)

:rose: I still mean to contact you on FB to ask about your personal experiences; I still want to deliver this baby naturally, even if baby is BIG! I keep telling myself to trust in millions of years of evolution, and trust that my body is capable of delivering this baby without the foggy haze of meds or having it cut out of me.

Watch for incoming message.... :)

:rose:

You'll be fine and so will baby.

Horror stories are just mom's way of getting even. ;)

I had a 9 lb, 15 oz. baby and did just fine...no c-section, and only the lightest of drugs. You'll do fine, too. :)
