After eight plus years of diligent effort, I am most happy to report, I'm pregnant!

Some of my friends here knew of the difficulty my husband and I faced in conceiving, so I just wanted to share the happy news here. We are ecstatic, and looking forward to our little Dutch-American baby to make its appearance sometime at the end of May.

We are are also nervous, in awe, shocked, excited –all the things new parents feel, I'm sure! Now to figure out our living situation... due to this wonderful economy, my husband lives and works in a different city than I do. We see each other two weekends a month. Ugh! We're determined to be together as soon as possible, though. We've wanted this baby for so long, neither of us want to miss a minute of it!

Congrats!! I know exactly what your going through. It took my husband and I eight year to get pregnant and I only did after doing horrible things to myself. I am so glad for you. You are gunna love motherhood. I was still in shock much shock and disbelief after I gave birth that I spent the first two months after our son was born with this horrible feeling his real mother was gunna come and take him back!

Had an ultrasound at the doc's today, baby still growing like he should, heartbeat is strong. He was even moving around a bit... so incredibly amazing to see and think that little thing is inside me! Alive!

Official due date is June 1, 2010.

I've had some rough days lately...and been in some dark places, but this is truly wonderful news to hear. I try not to bother my Gods, but I will give a prayer for you and your child to Freya.
