How about you?

Doesn't my number seem excessive?

It's not that I like moving. Really. Well, I don't think so anyway. Looking back, my moves have usually been due to a change in life circumstances, like jobs, animals, roommates, marriage, etc.

I can't help but wonder if I'll ever stop moving. I'm certainly not any place permanent now.

So, how many times have you moved as an adult? Why? Is anybody currently living in the house they think they'll die in?

once but 4000 miles.

I've only moved a couple of times, but where I'm at now doesn't feel like home. I want to live in a place that I'd want to live in for the rest of my life. I hate feeling like a stranger in my own living space.

I've moved four times in the last four years, not counting smaller moves such as school to home and back to school again.

Ah, the life of a college student.

11 times, 10 years.

It was all unavoidable.

I'm about to move twice more, both unavoidable.

It should be the last time for a good while.

I hate moving.

That sounds like me. You too, Pyper.

I averaged once a year until I got married and bought my first house. I stayed put for five years that time. The longest in one place of my adult life.

My 4 year olds have celebrated every birthday of their little lives in a different house.

It's so weird.

In one 18 month period during the .com boomdoggle, I moved 6 times between 6 cities and spent just under 300 nites of that time in hotels.

Iraq is good at this time of year I hear. Seems a lot of Americans are off on their holidays right now.

Enjoy the trip. Hope they don't come back. :)

We had to move 5 times in one year! Bad thing about it was that we only moved in a 60km square area in Germany. My daughter suffered and had to repeat the second grade!

None as an adult, yet, but I've done 9 since college, for almost as many different reasons.

I like my current house a lot but I sure don't want to die in it. Can I pick outdoors somewhere, so if nobody notices right away I won't stink the place up?

I'm currently in the middle of number 5... but once I meet my destination, I will eventually have to move once again. I would love to move to a permanent resident and make keep my roots in a home in the country but it hasn't happened yet.

Meeting your destination....I like that, LL. I wonder what mine will be? Exciting, isn't it? :)

Lance, I asked you not to use that photo of my flawless body!

I have moved 7 times in my 34.5 years on earth.

1st time I was 19-Married. We moved into our first apartment.

2nd time-We moved into the house we were going to purchase.

3rd time- I moved out just before our divorce was final. Stayed in a Motel for a few weeks until my apartment was ready.

4th-From the hotel into my apartment.

5th-From my apartment into a friends house with my (now ex) boyfriend.

6th-From my friends house into an apartment with my (now ex) boyfriend.

7th-After Dad died and mom had her stroke.. I decided to move home.

Wheels are made for rollin'
mules are made to pack.
I've never seen a sight that didn't look better looking back.
I was born under a wandrin' star.

Mud can make you prisoner, and the plains can bake you dry.
Snow can burn your eyes, but only people make you cry.
Home is made for comin' from, for dreams of goin' to,
which with any luck will never come true.

I was born under a wandrin' star,

Do I know where hell is? Hell is in hello.
Heaven is in goodbye for ever, it's time for me to go.

As an adult, I have NEVER moved - but I will have to break that streak sometime this year, and I'm not looking forward to it :(

Only moved 3 times as a child: Scotland to Australia, Migrant Hostel to current home, and a 5-day evacuation during a flood.

When I find a place, I stick to it...

Let's see....

Nine, in about seven years. But I guess I figure eventually I'll get settled and the moves will become farther apart...there was a period in there when I didn't move for three years.

eleven times, and I think that is too much. That's been in the last 10 years.

I think we've both been moving excessively.

In the last 25 years I have lived in 10 different states and I have moved over 100 times. I have moved about 25 times in the last 7 years. So no, your number does not seem excessive. This will not be the house I finaly live in until the end of my time. I have moved several times because I like the change. I have yet to fall inlove with a place to keep me longer than 6 months.

Hiya, eros. Nice to see you.

Does anybody's parents still live in the house you grew up in?

I think that would be so ultra cool, you know, to go home again.

Hi Ruby
How was school?
Ready to sell my house yet?

In 10 years of marriage, I moved 5 times
I have been divorced 17 years and in that time have only moved my clinic once. Haven't moved from my house in all that time.

I guess once I got out of the marriage, I settled down.

That sucks.

I'd like my future children to have their yearly heights marked on the walls every year.

At the most ... I would say I have moved 5 times in all my adult life.

I will be moving pretty soon ... a part of me welcomes the move , while another part does not want to leave...
