Now, here is the glitch.

It has been years since I have played.

I know I can use a cheat sheet for meld, but the bidding between partners can be a bit tricky.

Double deck and I am not sure what the difference is between Standard and Yacht Club rules.

That's the rules for basic 4-handed, Double deck and they have some tips on the bidding process and a few variations thrown in there.

With basic double deck the bidding starts at 50 points and works up in minimum increments of single points until it gets to 100. Then it usually jumps to minumum increments of 10 points.

In Yacht Club rules (some people call it "Boston Rules" too..) the bidding will start at 250 points and go up in increments of 10 points. All the scoring from regular double deck is multiplied by 10.

Ask your friend what the minimum bid is and that'll be your clue... When you get there to play, talk to whoever is your partner real quick and make sure you both are on the same wavelength as far as bidding goes. The bidding is everything in pinochle....
