I HATE anonymous feedback!

Not the feedback part, just the anonyous part. I hate it when people go through the trouble to read your stories and then are kind enough to drop you a complimentary note but don't provide an email address. All I want to do is to send back a quick note of thanks. I feel like such a heel when I don't (or can't).

Penny (and all the others), if you're out there, thanks and email me again but this time with a return address.

anon feedback

i have gotten some feedback on my stories by unknown people and i like it. i like knowing that i have made someone hot and bothered with my written words.

I like it too...actually, just getting ANY feedback makes me happy. But, it is frustrating when you can't say thanks to someone who's particularly nice.

On the other hand, I've gotten some really helpful (though not particularly positive) feedback from "anonymous," and I have to admit I'm kinda glad not to know who they are on the boards, cuz I'd prolley treat them different. I can't help it, it's hard not to be mad at someone who says mean things to you, even if it's constructive in the long run.

I'll go a step further. I wrote a story that I noticed recieved a 5, but whoever read it never sent me feedback.

I don't think people are being evasive, I think it's because there's a big ole link at the end of the stories that says "send author anonymous feedback" and that's the easiest feedback button to get at!

Don't forget it may be a privacy issue. If you are the Pastor of the "Primative Baptist Church of Englewood" you might not want anyone to know you are reading stories from Literotica. Annonymous feedback makes them feel secure that they can send feedback to the authors without revealing who they are.

Of course the FBI is using it's software on an estimated 90% of the email servers in America right now and that software may be able to determine who they are but hell we are the land of the free right! No invasion of privacy here right! No unreasonable search here right!

~patting Ray kindly~ He's a teensy bit paranoid, but smart and a good writer, so don't hold it against him.

I love feedback, be it anonymous or not. Well, okay, there's the slimy stuff i could do without but most feedback doesn't fall into that category, does it? Since i try to answer all the feedback i get (not a huge and time-consuming job, boys and girls), you'd think it was to my benefit to have some of it be anonymous. But it's not. We who crank the stories out *like* to respond to feedback. Most of us, anyway.

I love to respond to feedback too, but...

I'd rather get feedback that I can't respond to than not get any at all.

Some people are paranoid about giving out their e-mail address and won't give feedback if it means someone they don't know will have their e-mail address. To me, the feedback is more important than the e-mail address.

Gee whiz Ray...now we all know! :)

What ticks me off is when I get alot of feedback from people that have read my horrid stories, but when ALOT of people read my good stories, I get nothing. 54 people read my story "Reunion"with an overwelming response, but I got no feedback on it. Also my story about female country singer got a impressive response from 6 people, but did I get feedback? NO! Please, if people read my story and give it a mark better that 3, I would CERTAINLY like to hear from you. Even if you didn't like it much, drop me a line. But, please, if you dont like it, don't tell me I suck and should stop writing. How is that suppose to help me become better?

Nitengale,

Ooops didn't mean to be so obvious. Hope no one in my parish picks up on it. :)

i admit it ... i have responded with comments to stories here without giving my name or email. i think Ray is right, it is a matter of not wanting people to know who you are. Although ... if they are writing the stories, then you know how they are! LOL

If the anonymous feedback feature bothers you as an author, you are more than welcome to turn it off in your profile. It's a feature we added as an aid to the authors, but it's totally optional. If you turn off the anonymous feedback option, readers can still write to you un-anonymously via the address in your profile. Hope this helps! ;)

9 times out of 10 if I see the name Anonymous on the top I know the comments will be bad. I think if a person likes your story, they wanna hear back from you. I know I do.

Nasty, i think you are wrong about that. The comments that i have received with no name have been great! i like all and any feedback. if reading my stories makes the reader wet or hard, i want to know, but i don't need to know their names.

Well, I have recieved some anonymous feedback that was positive, but not alot. I guess it's just me. I just wish I get more feedback from people that had to whack off after reading my story. For those of you that read "Reunion" with Scully, Mulder, and Doggett, I'm glad you enjoyed it, but PLEASE!!!! tell me what you liked about it. Also the story about Lila McCann and Jesica Andrews. I get some feedback that just askes me to do a story involving a certain person. I'm happy to do it, just also tell me what it was about THAt story you liked along with the request. For whoever asked me about Sarah M Geller, I WILL get to it, but you never told me what you liked about the story you read. I LOVE it when people write nice things about my work, and it encourages me to write more. My goal is to get an H next to my story, and win the monthly contest. The closest I've gotten was 4.23. The story that has 4.33 next to it was because I voted for it, so I shouldn't really count.

~giggling uncontrollably~

Sorry.

~composing myself~

It all counts, nasty. In whatever manner authors accrue those scores, all those votes count. Not much you can do but grin and bear it. Oh yeh, and try not to care.

Yeah, I know it counts. My plan was to see if other people would be intersted in my stories if I boosted my own ratings. It seems to have backfired. What can ya do? As you say, grin and bear it, I suppose.
