It's bigger, its faster, and it's got more memory.

It's so much fun to zip along on the internet, rather than waiting forever for a page to load.

We also have installed Encyclopedia Britanica. I'm reading about San Francisco:)

Very good, Sweet. I'm glad for you.

Perdita

It just so happens that my two favorite tv shows are Charmed and Darmah and Greg. And my favorite side-dish, other than mashed potatoes, is Rice A Roni:)

(My other favorite TV show takes place in Burmingham.)

Cable Cars

Nob Hill's development was made possible by the introduction in 1873 of the cable car. Invented by Andrew Hallidie, this mode of transportation was designed to climb and descend the steep hills of San Francisco. Looking like a trolley, the cable car is moved by a continuous motorized cable that is sunk into the street. When the car's motorman yanks a long lever, a mechanism beneath the car grips the cable and the car is pulled forward. Another lever lets the car stop in place. While cable cars are one of San Francisco's prime tourist attractions, they also are used by residents for everyday transportation. The system was completely overhauled in 1982–84.

(just a sample of my fascinating new program:))

You coiuld try what my then seven year old did when the purpose of an encyclopaedia was explained to him. Start at volume one and read it through; he was on pagew 40 when we found out and stopped him.

He still knows more about Aardvarks than anyone else I've ever met.

For those who want to ignore the irrelevant bits, it is Vol 6 which is "How to Hug".

Why on earth would you stop him??

Congratulations of the computer. But did you get you tooth fixed?

Appt for tooth- March 10. I can't wait :sarcasm intended:

I like to read encycopedia's straight threw. It's fascinating, I agree with the poster who said, why stop him. Knowlege is power. (even aardvark knowledge;) )

Its not quite the same with a computer program. I suppose I could start at A and all, but it doesnt' have the same attraction as starting at the begining of a big thick book and reading straight threw.

Myself, I enjoy learning everything and anything about the very first entry- A. It's a letter, its a word, it stands for something on the chemical table I think, it's evolution into the elphabet, ect, ect. There's so much more to it than meets the eye!

Hope you get toothie fixed soon. I now have two less thanks to my recent problems and am gumming a lot of food still ;)
