So, does that mean that offcially I'm not an author? I think that just makes me more of a leech. The sad thing is that you, my friends, have not seen my capablities. Trust me, you're not missing much, aside from poor spelling and grammer. ;)

Honestly, at times I feel pressured to just submit anystory to have it up there, that way I can hang out here. That way I'm an "author".

You can always say you have writers block.

Or that you have "works in progress." Hey - works for me! :D

Well of course I do. ;)

We were all in that exact same spot at some point.....don't worry about it. When the story's ready, you'll tell it. :)

I do hope that when I finish my one story that you read it. I feel it will speak to you and hopefully lend some hope.

Leech is bad?

Usually the spots that I suck on are most appreciative. At least I get know complaints from my wife. Except for when I stop.

Will be glad to read it. :)

I'm working on one right now that's very personal, but it's flowing very nicely.

Hey Rik,

As Cloudy said we've all been there. Some longer than others but we've all been there.

Hey if you need a reason to come here just think of it as research. You never know what you'll find in here.

My first ever poll (and first thread) was quite similar to this except that I'm not an author. ;) At least you have a submission! At the time, I didn't even have any lil poems on here.

I looked it up and am now all nostalgiac. Course, I'm also drugged up and about ready to crash. That may have some influence. ;)

Anyway, here ya go, Rika :rose:

Well, that was sweet. Min wasn't even a little fuzzy gosling then. Mindy, you doll.

Good night all. I must be off to bed and fight the dreaded white powder of doom in the morning.

:) I wouldn't worry about it, Rika. If you go to the members' index and look at the big list of names, you'll see that 90% of them have no stories or poems posted at all. :)

I wish there was a search facility that could select members with greater than a defined number of submissions. I would like to see whether prolific authors write the same basic story many times or have a wide range of stories. I can search the Top Lists for prolific authors but the other way would be easier.

Whether I should have as many submissions as I have is a moot point. Have I gone for quantity rather than quality? What I hope is that people who read my stories understand that they are not all the same; that some work and some don't; and some are seriously weird.

I hope to reach this month's target - the total of 100 stories as oggbashan. I have more than 100 if I add in my stories as jeanne_d_artois's but I am a few short of the 100 as og.

Rika, darling pasha ... think seriously on this. What is it most of we authors are dying for - another story to read, or someone to read our own work? We're delighted to have you ;)

*sigh* that was a great nostalgia thread. I was a mere lurker back then. Interresting how many names that i'd almost forgotten that popped up...A7inchPhildo, Quasimodem, Dirt Man...can't say I remember when they departed.

Um..sorry for the hijack, back to business. :)

Rika: don't worry. hang out.

The most prolific individual I know of is Jstherra with over 600 posts, most of them poems and non-erotic stories. I'm unsure of the spelling of his name but I don't want to look it up just now. Sorry, Jim, if you're reading this. I have 119, which is more than most but that includes some poems also and six of those are one novella, broken into chapters. Anyhow, I have close to 100 stories which is probably more than most.

Most of my stories follow the same basic plot:

1. Man (men) and woman (women) get together

2. He (they) eat her (their) pussy (pussies)

3. They do some other fun things.

I have written a few that don't follow this basic plot but they don't usually stray too far either. As primarily a writer of smut, I am somewhat limited in what I can say. I could write about exploration of the far reaches of the galaxy or a brilliant detective who solves baffling mysteries or heroic dogs who save children who have fallen down wells or other such things but I would rather write smut so I do. I realize those options I mention are all cliches and it is deliberate.

I was thinking of jthserra as well. He's an interesting one (assuming gender - probably dangerous). The stories range quite widely and some of them have very interesting premises. However, I've often felt that I'm looking at the draft notes for something that could have been genuinely fine work if developed and given more time. I've only read a few, so can't speak wholly to repetition, but everything I've read suggested quite an intriguing power of invention and a wide-ranging mind. I just wish I could talk him into the "expand, review, and revise" club.

Bad club! Don't join! I hate that club, but it is a must in my book also. The best part is just jotting down the idea, letting the words flow. I hate having to go back and actually make it make sense.

Why not write about sex resorts in the far reaches of the galaxy and brilliant smutty detectives who solve baffling mysteries by bonking every suspect...?

You might end up with the low ratings I get for triple-titted aliens and for a rabbit trying to have sex with a vixen or...

Perhaps you have the right approach.
