We left a small portion of roast pork on the counter, under a tea towel to cool before putting it away.

Hubby just came down looking bemused. "I think Tene (the cat) really loves pork," he said as he held up the tea towel. It had a mousepad sized hole in the middle. Tene had eaten through the towel to get to the meat.

We DO feed her, honestly.

*giggles* If only Tene knew they only had to move towel with their paw before eating the meat ;)

This is the same cat that rummages through the compost bucket to eat the potato peelings.
Her diet seriously worries me sometimes.

Never, never, attempt to understand a cat....(or a woman)...

Ahem...

My cat is female. Imagine my daily confusion.

This post reminded me of the movie "A Christmas Story" when all the dogs ate the roast turkey. One of my favorite scenes from one of my favorite movies. Not surprising, though. I refuse to have cats in my house because I believe I'll be one of the old ladies who dies and no one finds them for several days, and then half eaten and nibbled by a pet feline. :catroar:

I'm not sure if it was entree or dessert, but this morning I discovered she'd also chewed (but not eaten) the length of the plastic bread bag out. There were small pieces of scrunched up plastic all over the counter. And the corner nibbled off each remaining slice of bread. Thankfully there were only half a dozen slices left.

I am so glad the rest of the pride is content with cat food!

Ami: this is a female cat.

I once had a cat who'd tip over the garbage and kick aside the chicken leftovers to get to the corn on the cob. (Male cat.)

lol...when I was a kid my parents left a pound of meat to thaw on the counter...a little while later it was gone and the puppy (no more than a pound or two herself) was looking miserable with a huge bulge in her tummy...not even sure HOW she managed to eat it! Lol!

That's cats for you. Two of my present lot of beasts dragged down and opened one of those big bags of Malt-o-Meal shredded wheat bites, on the grounds that packaged like that, there had to be catfood in it.

And yes, the bad red one has stolen bread.

And Zoey, the cat who's my avatar, is the one we called the Tomato Killer. I left a bowl of Roma tomatoes in the middle of the dining table once, and came back to find them all over the floor, with holes in them.

I grew up with a siamese who loved butter. If you left it out without covering it it would be covered with little kitty lick marks. :p
