I discovered a very odd building downtown yesterday.

At first I thought is was some sort of warehouse, but it was too nice for that, because it had heat and carpets and chairs. There were a few other people there, mostly reading books. There were literally tens of thousands of books on the shelves, all categorized in some system I haven't taken the time to understand yet.

As I entered, I saw somebody buying books- at least I thought they were until the 'cashier' said something about them being due back in three weeks.

I didn't stick around after that. What kind of freaks were these people? At first I thought I was dreaming or something, but I drove by again later and it was still there.

Couldn't have been a Barnes & Noble.

How can you read without Starbucks??

Barnes & Noble always has a sign above the door. I didn't see one, so it couldn't have been them.
