I didn't answer your p.m. because.....

well what are they supposed to do, quote Shakespeare?

I've always assumed the subject line was to describe the subject of the message. I guess if the message is just to say hi then that's ok but if the sender wants a reply, you'd think they'd put the actual subject in the box. Such as "unsolicited approach for you to take your clothes off on webcam in f not of a total stranger".

Maybe I'm just old fashioned...

Gabriel Garcia Marquez works for me - but I gotta man.

I'm partial to Edgar Allen Poe myself;

“In death - no! even in the grave all is not lost. Else there is no immortality for man. Arousing from the most profound slumbers, we break the gossamer web of some dream. Yet in a second afterward, (so frail may that web have been) we remember not that we have dreamed.”

I guess they need something to cry about.

“There are chords in the hearts of the most reckless which cannot be touched without emotion.”
― Edgar Allan Poe, The Masque of the Red Death

.....one of my personal faves of Poe. AND that would have definitely gotten a response from me.

but not this, one of my favourite quotes that I use in my novel?

“...the agony of my soul found vent in one loud, long and final scream of despair.”

Well, not initially...I mean it kind of says, "Hi! I'm tormented and scary." I mean quote Poe and you can just say you are well-read and it's Poe that is tormented and scary" ;)

You have to wait and hit the girl with your tortured soul on email/PM three or four. Didn't you see Swingers?

lol! Yea you have a point there. And since I'm not tormented I could very well misrepresent myself. Altho I do love that quote & use it in my novel.

Instead I could go find quotes from some romantic drama. ;)

Don't know anything about "Swingers"

They don't have to quote Shakespeare.

That would indicate lack of originality

How a man introduces himself reflects his personality, education, sense of humour, manners...simple, thought out and heart felt works!

Because you clearly didn't read Cicca's post on how NOT to approach a lady...but it was funny in its own right...

:D

I might not answer your PM because..

- there was nothing in your post that seemed addressed to me, it seemed to be something you've done as a mass mailout. If I message someone, I am messaging them for a reason, for example, to discuss a post they made.

- you have zero history of posts or information on your profile

- I get the feeling that many men repeat-mail me with new profiles, so I'm suspicious of that

- I know this is a site about erotica, but ... I personally don't respond well to an introduction that is just explicitly sexual.

All of the above.

Because your occupation read PLAYER and your interests read PLAYING.
There was nothing else in your profile, and you'd just joined LIT a few days before. 😝

Your PM said, "Hi".

Seriously, that was it. One word.

The really disappointing part was that a quick check of your posts and profile showed that you weren't a newbie but someone who had been around enough to know better - but apparently that's all the effort you have to put in to find RP partners here (your primary interest, from what I could see), and apparently you're satisfied with the results obtained.

Still not sure if I was supposed to respond with a proposed scenario, or maybe just genuflect.
