Believe it or not...he is what made Jackson Browne special. The concerts without him...just felt wrong. Incomplete. Way better guitarist than 99.9% out there.

Rest in peace brother

I went to see Jackson Browne a handful of years ago and David Lindley played about 20 minutes on his own. Incredible instrumentalist. I'm glad to have had the honor.

My first wife blackmailed me...told me if I didn't take her I wasn't getting laid for a month. I was a rocker...I considered Browne's music...too fluffy. I had no clue. David came and left the band...cause Jackson toured a lot and David liked doing other things. It was hard to keep his interest. While I was at Ohio State...David was back playing with him and we saw them at the Columbus Zoo Amphitheater...2nd row seats. In the pouring rain. Seriously... one of my top 10 concerts of all time. They had to cut it short cause it was too dangerous...and still Lindley just knocked it out of the park.

:) we saw him at Nautica (cleveland) and also sat very close. I've been a long time fan.
I was surprised that he played For a Dancer - it's one he doesn't always include over time and it was clearly a melancholy moment for him. I can't imagine.

He has so many albums. That is why he usually plays 2 sets. The first is the new music...then the older stuff in the second set. Still...almost impossible to get even a representative sample. Sure...I have mellowed out...but I can still put on the Late for the Sky album and disappear. Seriously underappreciated album
