and blow up this entire little village if the clampy thing holding the light bulb does not come out of the Post Office.

I need to change the bulb and the clamp slipped inside, anyone have a trick for getting these things out without breaking the house or a nail???

Ok I got it out finally, shattered the bulb inside it but I got the socket out. I feel some what better now.

Of course I am pissed that I scratch up my nail polish in the process but no need for bombs right now.

For future reference:

I have large and small medical forceps in my tool box for just such problems. (Actually I have four, two curved tip and two straight tip)

They are great for retrieving things from close quarters, clamping small items for gluing, an handling small items for any reason.

Almost anyone who has at some time or another had to solder electronics components or deal with compact wire bundles probably has forceps or something similar in their toolbox.

They are much handier than "needle-nose" pliers, because they lock down to act as a heat sink and can reach single wires inside a mass of wire better because they're thinner than pliers.

I used to have a dental mirror and pick as well, but they've been lost since I retired because I don't find them as useful around the house and car.

The medical forceps that my nurse friend gave me are one of the most useful items in my toolbox. pretty handy little doo-dad.
