The only possible "double-entendre", since you say his name is not Clay, that I see is "sole". What am I missing??
Are you sure you don't mean "metaphor" as in the author being a cock? -The cock is moldable, and then becomes a snake with a life of its own? After striking the phallic-snake is once more inert, soft and clay-like again. An interesting but not unique verbal image.
