Hurricane Hell-ene

I never have to provide id to vote, just give my name and sign on the line.
As long as they have the voter rolls, they should be ok.
i really hope that some provision is made for those who've lost everything, if they can find the time, heart and access to voting stations.
The National Conference of State Legislatures said 36 states have laws that require or request some form of identification to vote in person. Those laws applied to about 62% of registered voters in the 2022 election, according to U.S. Census Bureau data.

The laws in these 36 states vary as to whether they are strictly applied and whether a photo ID or another form of identification is accepted.

Ten states — Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee and Wisconsin — have what the conference labels as "strict" photo ID laws. This means that voters who lack acceptable photo IDs must vote a provisional ballot and take additional steps to verify their identity after Election Day for their ballot to be counted.

Three states — Arizona, North Dakota and Wyoming — have "strict" ID laws, according to the conference, but photo ID is not the only identification accepted. In Arizona, for example, a recent utility bill or bank statement are acceptable forms of ID.

Virginia: one form of ID to be able to cast your vote but now it's a non-photo proof

veterans who aren't are angering locals with their qanon crap

deplorables calling themselves Veterans on Patrol set up a staging area in a grocery store's parking lot; now they're really pissing off the locals, including some who cooperated with them initially following Helene. Their leader has a decade-long history of anti-gov't extremism and, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center, isn't even a veteran. quelle surprise.

A group of anti-government extremists who showed up in western North Carolina promising to provide disaster relief after Hurricane Helene is now threatening to destroy cell-phone towers and sabotage military vehicles.
Over the past three weeks, members of the group, which falsely claims that Helene was caused by a “weather weapon,” have been making conspiracy-driven claims that the U.S. military is attempting to kill U.S. citizens with “directed energy weapons.”
Are they linked to mtg? I'd not be in the least surprised. Maybe musk since they're promising to provide people with starlink boxes so they'd not be out of contact. They also say there are more weather weapons on the way (there are some storms of concern approaching) and that BlackRock is attempting a land grab to benefit Doug Emhoff!
Veterans on Patrol’s channel on the encrypted social-media platform Telegram posted a message on Thursday displaying photos of what appears to be a cell tower on a mountaintop. The message asserted that locals “are in Live Exercises where the United States Military is permitted to destroy your homes, bodies and minds,” while suggesting that equipment on the tower “is solely for providing the U.S. military the means to murder Americans.”
😫😡
they're posting messages on Telegram, advocating destroying military equipment and assets:
“Focus on tearing down their weapons. All it takes is one weapon tower being toppled with the stated reason spoken boldly.”

Another message posted Wednesday reads:
“Simple acts of pouring sugar into fuel tanks of military equipment, backup power systems, and personal vehicles of military personnel can wreak havoc on those who murdered all these people out here.”
