Have people read the latest issue of the Onion? Funny stuff but maybe a little too soon to be cracking jokes about the events of the 11th.

I think, though, of Lenny Bruce and how he was the only entertainer not to cancel his show the night of the Kennedy assassination. I always used to admire his gutsiness and fortitude but that may just be because that event didn't have a real impact on my life and I wonder now how much I admire him for doing so.

The stuff on the onion isn't really disrespectful to anyone involved and as usual makes some really valid points amidst the jokes but I was just wondering if other people feel the same.

But it's at times like these that I think that I think too much.

Sorry EBW I think it's a cheap shot. It is said that humor is the flip side of tragedy, however very few people will laugh about this topic for a long long time.

As far as Lenny Bruce well I never found him funny but then again it could be the age thing.

Comedy, as the wise old 1 a.m. Prop Comic once said, is Tragedy plus Time. But I can't imagine a length of time long enough to joke about the actual tragedy itself. Reactions to it, yes. But not the actual event.

How many Pearl Harbor jokes do you know?

(And Lenny Bruce was damn funny -- particularly if you put him in the context of his time -- same with Groucho.)

This is funny

"People are helping each other amidst this tragedy, today a hooker helped me out of my pants." David Letterman. HOWEVER, if you talk about the tragedy itself, NOT FUNNY!!!!!!!!!

I don't find Lenny Bruce funny.

Oh that's right I forgot we ALL MUST LAUGH AT THE SAME THINGS! :p :p
