"Our bed." He answered as she motioned to their sleeping mound.

When his face came close to that spot Gaia becomes nervous. Gaia looked at Blue Eyes in horror and struggled to get away. "No... no... Gaia no ated."

Gaia fought to be free and huddled in the corner by her large basket. She didn't understand what he was trying to show her. In her mind was images of the lizards attacking the tribe and devouring people.

Gaia becomes quiet as tears trail over her cheeks.

Blue Sat up and rubbed his cheek, where, in her fervor to get away, Gaia had planted her foot. It was sore but nothing seemed to be broken, thankfully. "No, Gaia, not ated, kissed, Ba Lou Ize kiss Gaia, like a fun one."

He moved slowly toward her, his hands out, palms up, showing her he was not a threat. He caressed her cheek again even though she flinched. "Ba Lou Ize not ated Gaia, kiss Gaia, love Gaia." He said softly, trying to reassure her of his intentions. "No tears, just good touch. Make Gaia happy." He drew her into his arms and ran his hands up and down her back.

Gaia stared at Blue Eyes. He has shown her many things but the variety of pleasure was too much for her to comprehend. In the few days since her arrival they have mated twice. He was raised in the jungles and well versed in mating variations compared to Gaia who was raised in caves had no carnal knowledge other then knowing Blue Eyes was not shaped like herself.

"Dem mack Gaia sca aird." Referring to those watchers. Gaia had spent time with them and suffered from their raids in her village. Gaia was very leary of them.

Gaia cuddled closer with a small shiver. It felt nice to be close to Blue Eyes. When he pulled the lion fur over their bodies she felt even safer.

Closing her eyes and holding close made her dream of small ones. Small ones that look like Blue Eyes and Wynn, her father.

The. Head Keeper reviewed the vid of them breeding. He contemplated on how to check her for breeding success. It wouldn't be easy as she demonstrates distrust and the male has shown increasing protection when it came to the female.

In order to keep everyone safe, the Head Keeper requests tranquilizer mist when they sleep tomorrow night.

In the morning, the park was abuzz with activity, it was a youth day, so the crowd was full of Yuza children that would yell and laugh loudly. Waking Blue from his sleep. He tried to ignore them and focus on Gaia's sleeping form but when a Yuza child tried to throw food into the enclosure, the automated cleaning systems activated and the electronic buzzing it made was more than he could stand.

He got up and collected an arm full of rocks, intent on throwing them at the onlookers, but when he saw they were young, he thought better of it. He was still very irritated by a the noise and needed something to take out his anger on.

There was a beam of light that shined into the enclosure like some fake sun. that bothered him, so with strong arm and skillfull aim, he blew it out with one of the rocks. When it popped and sent a shower of glass into the enclosure he shouted with triumph. He'd broken something of theirs, they would have to send someone to fix it... So he went up into a tree and waited, watching.

Loza was working in maintenance when the report light blinked. He checked the vid and in disbelief watched the glass break.. Damn humans! He wouldn't be able to brush off the job like he did the monitoring camera the female broke on day two or three..
The Head Keeper sent the work form that had a three hour deadline.


Gaia woke to strange noises and grunted looking for her covering. She found it and took the bigger basket and went foraging. Gaia took the small stone and knife with her as she went to the bushes. There was an odd smell in the air. Gaia notices the watchers but ignores them and searches for more nuts.

Another noise from the railings caught Gaia's attention and she stares at the watchers. She notices they point at her or was it something else. The beast she encountered before came running at her. Gaia ran towards the trees for safety but the beast turned to quick.

The crowd roared with excitement as Gaia narrowly escaped the tusk catching her side.

 

[Ravenloft]

Blues waiting was rewarded when a Yuza man entered the enclosure carrying a tool box and struggling to get a ladder through the maintenance door he was coming through. Realizing it would take two hands to get the ladder through the Yuza set his metal box down just as Blue landed on his feet, getting down from his tree.

He stalked toward the struggling Yuza intent on grabbing him. He was sure he could overpower the alien. It was then, within mere feet of the Yuza that the crowd of onlookers cheered, drawing both Blues and the Yuza's attention. The Yuza locked eyes with blue like he was looking into the face of a bear. Blue was unarmed, he needed a weapon. The metal box was in reach, he grabbed it by its handle and brought it up sharply under the Yuza' s chin, knocking him out.

He would have dragged the unconscious Yuza back to the cave but he heard Gaia cry out in fear. Instinct took over and he dashed off with the box to find out what was happening. Finding her being chased around a tree by a savage boar Blue bellowed to draw the beasts attention, throwing the metal box at it. He missed, the box clattering open, scattering its contents all around, but at least he'd drawn the boar's attention away from Gaia.

Now it was coming at him. He dodged deftly in a roll grabbing a metal object that had spilled from the box. He had no idea it was a plasma cutter, to him it was a club. He brandished it as such, ready to brain the beast, accidentally switching it on. A beam of hot light shot out of the end making him yelp in surprise. It sparked and crackled like a fire, but was white and blue not Orange and red.

The boar snorted and rushed at him again. On pure instinct Blue swung the fiery club at the boars head. The boar dropped dead from one blow, a sizzling wound formed with the acrid smell of burnt hair and flesh. Blue rose up, keeping the obviously deadly weapon well away from his own flesh and bellowed in triumph.

When the beast turned from Gaia she scrambled up the tree. She was unable to she what was happening but from the noises from above Gaia feared the worse.

Keepers were coming jn and rescuing the maintenance worker. Some of the tools were found and hauled out. Another report was filed and the Head Keeper had to request the humans be confined during repairs.

"Fine we'll wall them at the watering center. I want it done by midday and all those tools back in the maintenance shed."

Gaia heard Blue Eyes and felt relief that he was alive.

 

[Ravenloft]

Blue Eyes was expecting the keepers to come and search him for any tools he might have taken so before they came he called Gaia down from the tree and placed the club with magic fire carefully into her hands. "Gaia, hide this in cave, away from keepers. Go!" God's, please let her understand! He thought to himself.

He knew they would strip him of anything he had on him, but perhaps they might not notice if one was missing. To throw them off though, he started picking up tools and turned them over in his hands, trying to figure out what they might be for. Maybe if they saw him openly fiddling with them like a monkey they might think he was too stupid to hide one away from them.

Sure enough, several keepers came with spark sticks and a collaring stick. He threw a tool in their direction, missing on purpose then threatened them with a lunge and a growl, getting a sting from one of the sticks because of it. He yelped and dropped the rest of the tools he was holding, putting his arms out Palm up to show he would not fight them any more.

Still, they looped the collar over his head and guided him to the watering center. Then they went back out to bring Gaia there. He just hoped he'd distracted them long enough for her to hide the fire club from them. And that they wouldn't hurt her in bringing her here.

Gaia looked at the thing and understood hide. She didn't go to the cave she went to her tree and hid in the foliage above the cameras. Gaia spent nearly an hour making a net of branches that cradled the tool. Gaia also saw keepers wandering in the enclosure. Causing her to climb higher and become unreachable on the east side of the tree.

Voices called to the pair with Blue Eyes trying to find the female. Each mentioned an area of the habitat with no results. One ventured to fear she escaped thru the opening and was wandering the zoo.

It was chaos!

 

[Ravenloft]

"Trouble?" Blue Eyes asked one of his keepers. The keeper didnt respond. "Can't find Gaia?" He tried again. This time the keeper looked at him, then past him with searching eyes. "Understand Blue Eyes?" He tried a third time becoming annoyed. The keeper focused on him again, plugging some sort of device into his ear. The Yuza said something that Blue couldn't understand, then another voice with a strange, grating quality to it spoke. "Repeat last, hu-min."

"Human." Blue corrected. "Gaia gone? Can't find?" He asked the alien as if speaking to a child. The keepers weren't supposed to communicate with the sentient animals so he called the head keeper. "Sir, the male hu-min is trying to communicate with me, it's asking where the female is. What should I do? It looks like it's getting agitated."

The Head Keeper was monitoring the reports and checking the cameras. He found the vid loop where Blue Eyes had checked on the female. He notices Gaia heading to shelter and leaving with the basket and heading to forage. He was following her trail until massaged.

"Listen... try talking. See what you can learn from him. I"m still reviewing vids. Have workers talk to the crowd. Offer free passes for information."

Two keepers found the broken camera and Gaia's tracks. The also found the dead beast and the basket with some food inside and stones. Gaia was there and the broken camera was monitoring that area..

"Search quadrant 145. Also check fruit trees." The Head Keeper requested.

To`zed looked at Blue Eyes. Communication with the human was going to be the biggest change he's done. In a garbled mix of buzzing.and robotic words. ".hu-min where fe-male."

 

[Ravenloft]

Blue shrugged. "Don't know, Gaia fear keepers."

He tugged at the collar around his neck. "Undo, Blue help look. Gaia trust Blue."

The keeper didn't seem to take him seriously.

"Keepers find her, Gaia fight, get hurt, maybe. Not good, not good. Blue help, Gaia not fight Blue." He tried to reason.

Two hours passed and still no sign of Gaia and talking to the crowds got numerous replies. None of them helping find her.. The Head Keeper closed the zoo and released tracking orbs.. those little bird shaped orbs flew off and took to the upper level Iof the enclosure.

The Head Keeper arrived with three dog like creatures used for finding metals.. sometimes they picked up the scent of metal in the blood

Gaia out smarted the keepers by covering herself in the lion grease and hiding in trees

Noel Zeeg came into the enclosure and walked to where Blue Eyes was detained. The two spoke and he looked down at Blue Eyes. "Find Fe-male."

Before anything was said Noel Zeeg grabbed the collar and broke it off Blue Eyes neck. "Find Now"

 

[Ravenloft]

Another keeper came, a big one. This keeper reached out and broke the collar around Blues neck with ease, big and strong. Despite this keepers size and strength, Blue stood confident, looking him in the eyes. "Blue find Gaia."

He turned, still watching the strong one and began walking.

It was several minutes before blue started to let his guard down as he called out for Gaia.

"Gaia!" He called loudly, but calmly.

The keepers followed him closely, too closely.

"Too close, Gaia not trust keepers." He warned them.

"Gaia! Safe now, come to Balou Ize!"
