After being detained in Canada over 3 years, Meng Wanzhou, the eldest daughter of Ren Zhengfei, founder of Huawei Technology, has been released from her house arrest in Vancouver and flew home in Shenzhen, China by charter plane.
On the airport, she was received at a much higher level by organized crowds than the remains of the Chinese Volunteer Army soldiers who were killed in the Korean War in 1950s and were carried home a few days back from South Korea after long time diplomatic negotiation.
Some say it was after the signing of a certain agreement with the US that Meng was granted the parole. Canada had been a victim of the struggle of the two powers, offending China but not pleasing the US, which can be illustrated in a Chinese saying, "A pig is seeing his image before a mirror, but finds inside and outside of the mirror there is not a human" (implying it is doing something inhuman or lower than a beast)

Canada is the cat‘s paw that is burnt severely

Why was she under house arrest?

I am not very sure, but I heard it was that the US asked Canada to do so, then Canada immediately carried out the order of the Trump administration unconditionally and made itself puzzled about what to do next after Trump left and Biden took office.

It is understandable there are clashes and conflicts between the two big powers like the US and China. The detention of Meng Wanzhou is nothing surprising, considering both sides are having trade wars and other conflicts.

John Kerry and other senior officials of the US wanted to contact the top leaders in Beijing when they made a visit for climate change talks with diplomatic officials of China, but was rejected. At that time they were in Tianjin, a 40-minute drive neighboring city of Beijing. China's media said that a list of 36 conditions has been placed on the table to the American delegation, as well as the words that without fulfilling the requirements listed no more talk in future is necessary. Some say in the list there is the one for releasing Meng immediately. Since now Meng has arrived in China, obviously the US side has yielded.

Now looking at that Trudoll government of Canada. It lacks the strength of the French government, which could protest loudly against the unfair treatment from the alliance friends when Australia canceled the nuclear submarine contract with France.

Trudoll is known as Potato in the Chinese community in Canada, because the pronunciation of Trudoll in English is very similar to that of Potato in mandarin. He was a handsome boy and had many brain-damaged fans in China earlier, but when he had kept a beard and tried to look like a middle-aged man who has seen much of the world, his dirty image has helped to lose his popularity both at home and in China. I believe China will not change the current relationship with Canada unless Trudoll and his team are replaced. Canada has paid a heavy price for this not so wise move by a not so reliable man.

The slimy, shit guzzling chinese released 2 canadians who they imprisoned for 2 years as retribution for Canada upholding the law.

The chinese are scummy little rice munching faggots.

Boycott china!

Trudeau was just re elected, I guess china can stay pressed. Nobody likes china but the chinese.

Trump took a Chinese hostage on what appears to be very weak evidence against her. China took two hostages without any evidence at all.

The Canadians got caught in the middle.

If anyone else had done what the USA and China did it would be labeled, "Hostage Terrorism; and the label would be right.

Read the details of the case, she did not leave unscathed.

I know the details and the so called "admissions" Meng was forced to make. They were obviously made under duress so that the USA could save face. The original prosecution's evidentary quality was very weak and the Chinese response was stupid.

The current US administration did the right thing in getting rid of the mess but they will have to put up with a day or so of watching MS Meng: "Returning in triumph to the motherland."

At least the CCP and Fox will see it exactly the same way - as a major triumph for China. :)

Incidentally, Meng's dad knew Xi and his father when her dad was establishing Huwei in Schenzhen and Xi's dad was the official responsible for developing the new city. Pays to have friends in high places!

Her admission of guilt sets the company up for further sanctions. This was not about her per se, it was always about the company.

As far as daddy being buddies with Xi, what a surprise? The party and it's senior members have their fingers in every company in China. It's goes part and parcel with the criminal syndicate they call the CCP.

I am so surprised to find an old, mature and experienced adult visitor of the political sector of this forum like you always says things that even kindergarten kids feel shamed of saying
Find a playground in your neighborhood where there are you playmates to discuss who will act as the daddy and who mummy in your simulate marriage game

You may be right. But like the case in the US, people have elected Joe Biden, but there are still many Trump supporters and fans who are very unhappy and try to get into the Capitol Hill to make themselves heard loud and clear

Chinese culture has always been all about family which has always made it prone to nepotism at all levels. It should be no surprise that not even Communism could change that.
