pre-menopause has come home to roost for a while now (closing in on 2 yrs), and still no sign of a return of my wife's sex drive. the mood swings, hot flashes, night sweats have been mostly contained by an over-the-counter product called "remi-fem" or something like that (this is a non-compensated endorsement) at her doctor's suggestion.
neither she nor i were in favor of hormone therapy before the recent study cancellation, and now that's definitely out.
there was some initial tension over this (surprise, surprise), but we've both gotten over that, and now it's become kind of a joke. i make a pass, she gives me the "heisman", i give her a pouty look and we laugh. at least we're at a stage where we can and do laugh about it, but while she may not care for it now, i still have a few hormones of my own kicking around. she's aware i've written a few stories, and said if it works for me, carry on. everything else about our marriage is great - 10yrs married, living together 14, both 1st marriages, both in our mid-40s.
my questions: does a woman's sex drive return on its own at some point down the road? anyone have experience with this w/o the use of hormones? and, tongue in cheek, why wasn't a warning label attached?
