How will you ring in the New Year?

Anyone have big plans they would like to share?

I spend every New Year's Eve hosting a formal dinner party for my closest friends. The same eleven people have come every year, and now it's a tradition.

I'll be alone in bed with the covers pulled over my head in an attempt to drown out the fireworks, all the while dreaming about how different it's going to be next New Year's Eve.

Bored, safe at home. I say it is because I want to avoid all the drunk drivers on the road, that staying home is "safer." The real reason? I'm shy in RL and likely have no one to celebrate with each year anyway. So, I'm home. And usually a little depressed that yet another year has gone by and I'm still spending New Years by myself.

Playing games with the kids, having a carpet picnic and drinking sparkling cider. The kids like to eat jello out of my champagne glasses so I always make that.

Home with friends popping in and out. We host a little party like this every year. People drinking are not allowed to move on till we feel they are safe, or not at all. Though most my friends don't drink that much, it only takes a couple. We play games, listen to god music, munch, talk and have fun.
Last year I had everyone make a special New Years Ornament for fun. Thought it wouldn't go well, but they had a riot painting glass balls. Now they want to know what we are doing this year. I hadn't planned anything.

Well, it was going to be at my sister's place, with goodies to last the entire evening, and then trying to pick my way home through blocked streets and frantic float activity (she lives about three blocks from the Rose Bowl; I live about a mile below the start of the parade).

However, WitchsKat isn't feeling well, so it looks as if we will be staying home. I'd love to party hearty, really. It's just that movement is so damned restricted here, and I'd like to get home somehow before Tuesday.

We will be home, maybe with a few friends. My sis & her family were supposed to come for the weekend, but my brother in law is sick. I have 3 days off, so sweetie & I will have some special couples time. I haven't had a weekend off since before Thanksgiving. I wish for you all a Very Safe & Happy New Year!
