How to write sex party/orgy invitation dialogue?

Hello everyone,

My name is Matthew and for some years I have been trying to write stories to post on this site but I find I can never finish them. I get half way through them and stop because when i read them back, even I find them too cheesy or unrealistic. My problem is that I have no frame of reference for the many relationship situations and/or interactions that everyone else seems to take for granted as being normal. Now I could turn this post into some great rant about how I have so little experience in life, despite being 50 years old. But I won’t.

Instead I’d like to focus on one piece of conversational dialogue that has been bugging me: I have been trying to write a story where the male protagonist gets invited to a sex party/orgy. My problem is that I have no idea how such a conversation would play out, let alone try to write it. What words does person A use to entice person B to go to such a party? Do they use euphemisms?

My brain draws a complete blank on that one. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thank You,
Matthew.

You say person A entices person B to go to such a party, but there are various scenarios where that might happen.

Are they male friends, where A is trying to get his buddy more experience? Do they both know the others involved at the potential party? Is the male friend Bi, and possibly trying to get his buddy into a relationship? Is it a female platonic friend? A girlfriend with a sexual relationship trying to "educate" her boyfriend with her fetish?

So, the words you would use depend on how you develop the characters and their relationship. Maybe try focusing on their background first, before just writing a scene and you might better imagine how the words would play out.

You don't need to cover the actual invite, of course, if that's proving too hard. You can spin it another way. And even if the parties tend to be upfront about what they are, they don't have to be.

Just as a wee bit of inspiration, here's some of that "conversation" from a tale I never finished:

Jade tipped back her cowboy's hat, cocked a hip and planted a hand as her green eyes flashed angrily at me, "What the hell are you doing here, Colt!?"

"Could ask you the same thing." I automatically retorted, despite the absurdity of the response.

She rolled her eyes, "It's Darren's party. Of course I was invited... But who the hell would invite you?"

"None of your business." I replied. She seemed about as excited at the prospect that I was going to be there, as I was that my sister was attending the same Valetine's party as me.

It wasn't technically Darren's idea. His girlfriend had come up with the idea of inviting a bunch of couples, and singles, to a costume party. The couples would set the mood, and the singles would find it easier to find someone else to hook up with.

I relate to this, because I'm a guy in my 50s and I often write about things that I haven't done, or have no personal experience with. It doesn't stop me.

The first thing to keep in mind is that the "reality bar" here at Literotica is not high. Don't beat yourself up. A little good-faith effort at keeping things real goes a long way.

Here's how I would do it: refocus your attention away from the orgy, and toward the characters, the invitee and the inviter. What's the nature of the relationship, and of the characters? Is the invitee somebody bold and adventurous who doesn't need much convincing, or is he tentative and inexperienced, such that the invitation will take some careful handling? What is the inviter's motive in wanting to invite the invitee? The motive will go a long way to explaining how the inviter approaches the invitee.

"Hey, Jim, why don't you and the missus come to our swap party this Saturday?"

"Well, sure, what should we bring," Jim asked.

"Just you and your lovely wife, my friend. I'm sure you both will love it. Wear your bathing suits, and be prepared to swap." Theodor said.

"Swap what?"

"Oh, boy, you got to be kidding me, right? You know what, we swap. You might want to consider lube and condoms as well."

"Oh, I see; yeah, I'll run it by Sandy, but don't hold up the get-together waiting on us."

"Marline is talking to Sandy right now, ole boy, and I just got a big thumb's up from Marline. See you Saturday.

Everybody is different, and I imagine every conversation leading to a sex party is different. Probably the only way you can write it wrong is if your character turns down the invitation. But then, where's the story in that?

He turns down the invite, only to find his wife coming home late, saying: "I just stopped by a party after work, and you wouldn't believe what happened. I'll tell you about it after I take a shower."

See? There's a story even if the invitation is turned down. This one might go to LW.

It did occur to me that there is a wrong way for the dialog/invitation to go. Your characters usually have their voices pretty well established when you get to the middle of a story. The dialog has to be consistent with their established voices. You and your readers are likely to have trouble with it if the voices aren't consistent.

Agree completely.

It's easier to initiate an orgy when there is a core of two or more couples already intimate in that way, i.e., swingers, and they each already know friends who might be so inclined. As to "inexperienced", that's going to be more successful if one of the core or core-adjacent characters already has an intimate relationship with them, even if only emotionally-intimate, as in:

"I've been invited to a special party, and it was suggested I should bring a friend. I know you well enough to think you might be interested."

"Oh? What do you mean by 'special'?"

"Oh, I dunno," as she shuffles her feet and stares at the floor, wearing a big grin.

"Is it casual? A theme? What would I wear?"

"Doesn't matter."

"Oh! One of those! Really?"

"Uh huh. You'll have fun."

You need to finish this story now.

You need to finish this story now.
Haw, I may need to, but I have four stories in some stage of writing I can't get back to because I keep doing new ones. Mr. Lucky, Quick Encounter with a Prostitute, and How to Mend a Broken Heart, have been published in the last week or so. There is a new one, From a View to a Thrill, in the queue, two more about ready to put in the queue, and 3 others with their characters asking me to finish them. But I'll save the text and figure out what's supposed to happen and have it happen as soon as I can get back to it. I guess it is apparent I'm not currently busy making any money!

Here's how I wrote an invitation:
Jenny turned back to her work, twirling a pen in her fingers, and shifting her bum on the seat. She was aching to be asked to join them, and wondered if they'd ever ask.

Alex came back five minutes later and leaned over the front counter.

"You doing anything Friday night?" he asked, coming straight to the point.

"I don't think so," Jenny replied. She had nothing planned at all, but decided to play, ever so slightly, hard to get.

Alex called her bluff, straight away.

"Good. You don't. Alice's place, seven thirty?" He asked it as a question, but they both knew it was a foregone conclusion, and Jenny the subject of it.

She looked up at him with a delectable smile. "What should I bring?"

"Just yourself. We'll look after the rest."

He looked down at her with a frank look of appreciation in his eyes. Jenny looked back at him, equally certain. "I'll look forward to it."
Keep it consistent with your characters, and give the dialogue some motivation so it's believable.

The newscaster looked back to the screen, "Thankyou for that, Sal. Now, onto lighter news. Charlie's Sex Factory is again making headlines, after the enigmatic businessowner has been caught adding secret invites to the inside of certain condom wrappers."

The female cohost rolled her eyes, "Is there anything that man won't make about sex?"

"I don't know, Fiona." The man replied, "But it's certainly proving popular with young men. Take a look at this scene, when the location of one of these apparent `secret tickets' was discovered at this supermarket..."
Just for you, bubo!

I guess I can come at this from a bit of a different angle.

My wife and I were both a bit promiscuous, before we married and neither of us had any inclination to stop our activities. A few months into our relationship and after a conversation we decided that as much as sex between us was fun we still were craving more.

Our first venture into what we later found out would be considered swinging, was dinner and cards with friends. Between us we decided that strip poker would be fun and inviting another couple to join us would be more fun.

This led the first night to the couple we had invited over having sex in our bathroom while we used the couch. The sounds of their sexual activity greatly enhanced our own.

Over the next few months that first couple and two others started joining us every few weeks for some erotic play time.

Over time this evolved from hearing others to having sex to having sex in the same room and then swapping.

Eventually this led to more group type activities.

Over the years talking to other swingers this seems to be how most people start.

To your question I have brought others into our group who have expressed interest.

One in particular was a female friend who was recently divorced and through conversation led me to believe that she was open to trying new things. She had no idea that my wife and I were swingers.

I and then my wife casually invited her to a small house party, iirc there we four couples. As usual things started off slow but naked hot tubbing as usual worked it's charm and after a hour or so she was completely involved in the action.

In the end I believe she had sex with three of the men, myself included and then spent the rest of the night and most of the next day with my wife and I.

I guess what my ramble is trying to say is that in real life the "Vanilla" person should at the very least show some interest in group sexual activity before they would be invited to join.

I have a story I published recently that brings a group of friends into the group sex world.
