This is flummoxing me.

I have a character I like to write about. He is bi-sexual. But sequentially. Which means that in each given short story, he is going to be fucking either a man or a woman.

Now, it's not bisexual anymore.

How does one deal with that, any suggestions?!

Why does he sleep with either a woman or a man in each story? Why can't he do both?

Try extending the story to more than one sexual encounter.

If you're intending to write it as a series, you can justifiably put it in "Bisexual" for the series as a whole, rather than splitting the chapters between Gay Male and Erotic Couplings or whatever. But you might want to add a short note at the start so readers understand that not all chapters will contain both.

Or you could post several shorts together in one 'story'.

It's the character that is bisexual; having sex with a man and then a woman doesn't make him any less so. After all, being bisexual *doesn't mean* you're always having sex with multiple partners of either gender. So if in one story he's having sex with a man, then it can go under gay male; with a woman, Erotic Couplings or romance or whatever fits best.

If it's all one story, I imagine Gay Male would trump the rest, but then fans of gay male would be upset at the m/f sex.

There isn't a bisexual category here, at least not yet.

ETA: Gah, big mistake in first graph. Wrote "means" when it should have been "doesn't mean." Fingers faster than brain...

novel/novella it?

A bisexual might not necessarily think about their partners or about sex the same way a straght or gay person might. For instance, they might notice the that a guy says something or does something in the same way a woman might do-- or not at all like a women might do. Or vice versa.

Some people are bisexual all the time. It's inside them, not just what they do.

which answers the question, how?

I'm assuming the OP wants to write mmf sex in one story. I don't get why he can't though.

Yes, certainly, you're absolutely right. It's a completely different vibe to straight gay.

Which is why I'm hesitant to post a m/m in the m/m gay department, they'd probably think it's weird.

The character is not given to having sex three times a day with different people of different sexes LOL which is why it's a problem for a short story which I haven't managed to resolve.

And if there isn't a bisexual category, if he did, you are right, then everybody would be upset ...

I could call him Bisexual Bill, put it under erotic couplings and make it into a series ...

I'm subscribed to a Bi-activist facebook forum. They would go ballistic if they heard there wasn't a category for bi at Literotica.

LOL.

People who submit stories have gone ballistic already. If the site owners CAN make one, they will. But to do so means the poor old dude has to hand code additions into every page.

You have to understand that this site is a dinosaur and runs on kludged PHP.4.5 code on top of kludged PHP3.5 code on top of kludged PHP2.5 code on top of kludged PHP1.5 code accreted over the course of ten years.

We are not here for the all mod cons. ;)

Re aged php = Fair enough.

I guess the trick has to be to put Bisexual in the title and then just go for it.

Thanks esp. to the correspondent who pointed out the different energy.

I am no longer confused ...

haha ....

I don't mind the site design personally. It has a sort of retro feel to it. And I doubt you can get a forum/blog/submission system off-the-shelf that would do exactly what you want.

Plus it's pretty fast. I've seen a lot worse.

I've written multiple stories that include male bisexuality in multiple headings, based on the rest of the action. I've taken to including an author's note at the beginning of the story, cautioning the reader, "There be male bisexuality ahead!" Seems to work for me.

Can you point me to an example?

LOL at the male bisexuality ahead. I have a friend who was traumatized by Brokeback Mountain and has stated he wants warnings in time to be able to get a cushion so he can hide when "it" comes ...

Very good question

Master Chay - I think I agree with you that this subject is a bit more complicated that people are making it sound.

I think there have been a few too quick and easy answers given to something that deserves maybe deeper consideration.

It sounds to me that what you are asking is more along the lines of 'hey, how do you convey BISEXUALITY itself...?' And not just 'first one/then the other.'

The androgeny solution is one way but it is also a narrow defining of 'potential' or 'possible' bisexuality, and doesn't necessarily cover the range of personalities.

I suppose some people could say that true 'BI-sexuality' is when someone finds they are sexually attracted to both sexes more or less equally in spite of the gender stereotype separations. So that: a guy finds a big rough male with a lot of facial hair sexually attractive, while the same individual finds a fine-boned, high cheekboned, almond-eyed porcelain doll-type though also big-breasted woman, also sexually attractive...

This thing is a LOT more complicated than a superficial inquiry will suggest! Is he/she going to penetrate, or be penetrated - or both...

But at the same time, if you consider ALL the possible variations, you actually have a very rich field of characteristics and personality-types and attitudes from which to draw some kind of erotic story out of. I wonder whether however, there might be a SPECIFIC BISEXUAL erotic motif that is appealing to actual bisexuals themselves, as opposed to the erotic triggers that apply to other orientations - gay, lesbian, hetero...? And I wonder what that might be. I have some ideas myself, but I'm interested in what others may also think.
