How to register for the Chat?

It always says I'm added but then when I try to login it gives me authorisation error - it never sends me a confirmation link to the mail address, does it need to anyway?

Lit chat hasn't worked properly for years, and it doesn't appear to be a priority for the site owners. Your best bet is to be more active on the forums or find another place to chat.
