ok, i'm headin' out and won't be back til the wee hours of the morning but i'll leave you this to ponder...i've been arguing this point for years and i'm pretty sure that i'm right even though neither of my x's would agree and my current lady friend looks at me like i've lost my mind and even my mother gives me the southern babtist "i raised you better so it's not my fault look when i bring it up...if you take a shower properly and get really, really clean and rinse off real good and dry yourself with a clean towel and then hang the towel over the shower curtain rod so that air circulates freely while it's drying then the towel should never get dirty and you won't ever have to wash towels again...right?.....right?.......come on, somebody....anybody...........well, bye then...

Absolutely!

As long as you're not using my towels, are my roommate or living in my house.

We reuse the towels after showers

We have color coded ones.. pink is mine.. green is his.. blues clues is my daughters. They are washed once a week unless for some reason they need to be done sooner.

Yep

What she said.

i like them freshly cleaned and fluffed......lil bounce smell to them....folded.....hanging nicely on towel rack.....or stacked neatly in cabinet...

my preschool daughter was appalled when she visited my sister and her family...."mommy, i had to use dirty towels"...they do the use and let dry method.....

it's more the messy way the bathroom looks...i think....for me....stuff hanging all over....but what do i know....i'm an anal aardvark...<winking>

We re-use our towels for a few days too. I don't have time to do unneccesary laundry.

We don't throw our towels all over the place. I'm also anal about a clean house. I get odd looks all the time when I say something about cleaning the bathroom daily and the toilet several times a day. The towels we use get thrown into the dryer.. fluffed up a little, neatly folded and put back into the cubboard.

Ours get hung on the line or near the woodburner after they're used, and then hung on towel racks in the bathroom. I also have a closet full of towels for other people, or if one of the bath towels gets used to dry the floor after teh splash-a-thon that is bath time.

I hate having a messy bathroom, but Freaks... several times a day??? How icky does a toilet get? I bleach mine once a week.

bleached once a day.. the rest of the time is wiping the seat with Clorox wipes. I have a six year old that can't remember what toilet paper is for... she leaves little dribbles on the seat.

Weekends when I have the 8 kids.. it's done more often.. 5 boys who don't know how to aim.. makes for a messy bathroom

I'm with the once a week theory. If you're clean when you dry off, why use a clean towel every day!!

I think it depends on many factors, including relative humidity and the thickness of the towels. It's all about the drying rate. Yes, you are clean when you use them, but if they hang and don't dry in a reasonable amount of time, they will get mildewy. I live in Southern California, a fairly dry climate, so when my towels hang they dry quickly, so they're usually good for about a week.

Of course, if you toss them in the dryer after every use, the point becomes moot, but I'm talking about the hang dry method.
