So how do you gain attention and exposure for your writing?

Also (and don't take this the wrong way), you are asking this question on Authors' Hangout, a writers' forum, so try to avoid typos in the heading. Good luck.So how do you gain attention and exposure for your writing?
Fair point could've double checked so did that make you feel betterAlso (and don't take this the wrong way), you are asking this question on Authors' Hangout, a writers' forum, so try to avoid typos in the heading. Good luck.
I'm going to try and definitely enter some contest ty for suggestionContests and events generally get a lot of viewers, too.
See Simon's No.6. Snark back is not a good idea. Accepting the hit with a face palm would have earned more points - Sam, if you know him, is never malicious.Fair point could've double checked so did that make you feel better
All good advice. I also mention any stories that are about to be published on by bio page. Here are some ideas that I think work, but my caveat to this advice, or any advice, is that since this is a free site and nobody's paying you, the number one thing is to write stories that you enjoy. That said:
1. Write stories in categories that are popular (incest, loving wives) and you will get far more readers overall.
2. Write stories in a combination of categories. Diversify. You'll reach more different readers that way.
3. Write often. Keep plugging away.
4. Ask your readers to comment on your stories at the beginning or at the end of the story.
5. Enter contests and events.
6. Be positive. Participate in forums and don't be a dick. Comment positively on other people's stories. Be supportive of other people and they may be supportive of you.
7. Use other social media. I use Twitter. I don't think it does a lot, but I get a little bit of extra interest because of it, I think. Tweet when you post a new story.
8. Try to write as well as you can. Keep improving.
Doesn't fair point acknowledge said mistake and if that's snark I'll offer an apology but that seems mildly annoyed as to being a dickSee Simon's No.6. Snark back is not a good idea. Accepting the hit with a face palm would have earned more points - Sam, if you know him, is never malicious.
The first five words of your post were fine, should have stopped there. The rest tried to turn your oops back on the guy who pointed it to you - you shouldn't be mildly annoyed but grateful. Still, you won't do typo klutzes again, eh?Doesn't fair point acknowledge said mistake and if that's snark I'll offer an apology but that seems mildly annoyed as to being a dick
If I understand it correctly you can edit the title of your thread in the same way as you can alter the body.Fair point could've double checked so did that make you feel better
