I have one coming up this weekend and I've never done anything like this before. I recently lost a lot of weight and I want to so something sexy for my husband. So a friend suggested a boudoir for valentines and I'm going to bite my insecurity in the ass and just do it.
Problem. Since I've never done what. I don't know what to do. Do I dress sexy? do I do a theme kinda thing (he's a mechanic, I could dress in his gear, slap on some grease, grab some tools etc..) or just grab a sexy silk sheet and roll around it in??

You all are about sexiness.. I'd love to hear suggestions.. Women/ What have you done? What did you wear etc..

Men, What would turn you on the most?

I want it to be sexy and not just "cute"

I haven't done this although I've thought about it. I would think the first thing would be to talk to the photographer to find out what their experince and background is. You want to he comfortable with them. Find out what props they have and ask for suggestions. Good luck!

hi, SassySheDevil.

i've never done a boudoir session before but i've always admired the allure and glamour of the photos; and you get to play dress up, how fun.

what i did do was google some session ideas, and i was able to pull up a collection from pinterest. i love your idea of a sexy mechanic, and pin-ups never go out of style.

pinterest boudoir photos

i love all of the images, but these stood out for me:

i also found a studio that you can look through if and when you have the time. this particular studio does retouching, so you may want to ask your photographer if that's a service that they offer if that's something you're interested in.

i think what you're considering sounds like so much fun; enjoy your session this weekend.

good luck and be golden.

For me, I like my girls girly. Soft. Delicate. Feminine. The mechanic thing wouldn't do it for me. I mean, I'm sure I would find it hot, as sexy photos are sexy photos. But that wouldn't be my thing.

For me, this is what I'd like. I'm pretty preppy and I like clean cut, well dressed girls. To me, seeing a girl with a dress shirt on is just so amazing. If she has that "I just got fucked" look in her eyes or the "I will fuck you with my eyes" look... *whatever the equivalent to a girl getting a puddle in her knickers is* It's such a hot look. If the hair is slightly out of place, that's hot too.

If a girl wanted to please me these are the kinds of pics she could take. Ahem.

These can be great fun - even more so when your partner is the one behind the camera. ;) I've done this twice with a pro and countless times with playmates/spouse.

With a professional, he/she will certainly help guide you, but since it's your shoot and not for their own advertising, you get to pick the kinds of shots/themes and props you use (within the scope of the package you buy).

You could totally rock a mechanics theme if you wanted - using body paint as grease to highlight areas...etc. Tools as toys....errr....accessories. I mean, a woman strapped up in a tool belt (strategically placed) with work boots and a hard hat at a jaunty tilt? FAB! Oooh...oooh....how about a black and white of you from the back with a pair of coveralls inching down over your hips, leaving the graceful lines of the back nude....and a coy smile over the shoulder. Sooooooooo many options!

My suggestion - image search is your friend. Flip thru some online portfolios to get an idea of what YOU like re: body positioning, lighting, background, texture.... then you can fun it up with costumes and props.

I like the Retro Vargas Girl/ Pinup looks. And since he is a mechanic have you thought about making a calendar like the ones you see up all over shops? You know the ones I am talking about. [laughs]

I think the mechanic one will end up being something I do on my own. Not as much skin showing as I'd like and especially for Valentines day. I had my hair done today and a copper color was added, so I'm going to find a way to play up my pale skin and blue eyes. I want it to be sexy more then "cute" So I'm playing with a few outfit ideas and will go with whichever ends up looking the best. Ordered 2 in the mail and hoping they will get here in time.

I'd go.with what makes you feel sexy. Your photographer will be able to help generate ideas too. have fun with it.

you may wanna practice your sexy look in the mirror too. i know it sounds silly but i just did a shoot and thought i was doing my sexy look and i definitely wasn't. i wanted to smack myself when i looked at the pictures.

Have fun!

Sassy, I just did this for Christmas and had an absolute blast! It was so much fun! Here are my suggestions.

- Wear a shirt that is button up so you don't muss your hair changing once you get there.

-Don't wear a bra and wear clothes to the studio that are not going to leave marks on your body.

-Bring music. It doesn't have to be sexy music but something that will make you feel comfortable.

-Bring twice as many outfits as you think you'll need. Better to have too much stuff then wishing you had brought something.

-Bring a lot of jewelry. For the same reasons.

-Search up pictures of what you want and bring them with you. Most photographers don't mind and it gives them a sense of what you want.

-Don't eat before you go, if you can get away with it or eat small amounts and don't drink anything carbonated.

-Laugh. Laugh a lot. It will make it so much more fun, the pictures will look genuine and it will help you relax.

I hope your clothes that you ordered show up in the mail and that you have a ton of fun!

Jen

The photographer told me about the fake eyelashes which have always been horrible for me to get on myself, but I'm going to give it a try. She also told me about the practice my sexy looks thing..

My outfits did arrive. Sadly I don't like either of them on :(

One cause it's too sheer/tight, so it shows all the imperfections.

The other cause I'm so short that the built in thigh highs come almost all the way up to my crotch. *sigh*

I'll figure it out though ;)

Thank you all for your suggestions.. Here's a quick peek at one of the "pin up" suggestions.. I had a total blast!!

Nice work Sassy!!! Has made me smile!!! Thats for sure!!

Thank you, thank you. I liked all but like 3. She only showed me 18 of them though.

I'm sorry I missed this thread until it was too late, but I'll add a few suggestions in case anyone else is planning something like this.

jen—litgirl has a good list, but I would add:

- When you're looking for a photographer, pick one whose work you really like instead of taking ideas to a guy who may not have any clue how to do what it is you want. In other words, it's better to have the final image in common rather than trying to make an image from two different ideas. This is not to say that you shouldn't bring pictures of ideas with you, but you should be aware of what the photographer is generally capable of and what he or she will be willing to do. (Personally, I love it when the client brings ideas, but that doesn't mean I'm going to produce anything in color when I've decided to do all portrait work in B&W. The ideas give us starting points for poses and lighting, but the final images are still produced by the photographer.)

- Meet the photographer in person before the shoot (and I don't mean five minutes before you take off your clothes). You absolutely have to feel comfortable with this person and if you don't like him/her or he/she makes you feel uncomfortable, it will show in the photos.

- Speaking of feeling uncomfortable, you may feel the need to bring a friend as an escort/bodyguard. If you are so uncomfortable with the photographer that you feel your personal safety is in jeopardy, get another photographer. This is also part of the initial meeting mentioned above. When in doubt, ask for references and call them. Again, if you're uncomfortable, it will show.

I endorse jen's suggestion to have fun!

My husband got 7 pics on a viewmaster and loved them. ;) For not having met her, I was amazingly comfortable and she did an awesome job. I would love to do it again sometime. I still look at my pictures and say "wow, was that really me?"

There are lots of articles online with advice, but one piece of advice I saw once that I thought particularly interesting is not to eat before, and the reason was interesting ... you sort of feel better about yourself, and feel thinner, ever if you're not.

Also, drink before. Even if you're not drunk, the alcohol gives you an excuse to go outside your comfort zone.

Ok so I am bumping a thread that is over seven years old. I ran a photo studio for many years and did a number of boudoir sessions. I never thought there was a certain "look" that all of the photos should have. I believe a boudoir session should

Ok so I am bumping a thread that is over seven years old. I ran a photo studio for many years and did a number of boudoir sessions. I never thought there was a certain "look" that all of the photos should have. I believe a boudoir session should reflect the personality of the model, their own idea of who they are and highlight their finer points. To get the best results, it is important for the model to feel comfortable and beautiful.
