How to insert picture into post?

How do you insert a picture saved in your computer into a post? Not attached to the post, but inserted so it is visible? That "image" buttone appears to be a liar.

You can't! The img button isn't lying. If the image is stored on your computer it can only be an attachment.

It's only if the image is on a site that you can take the address and use the img function. Many people use photobucket for this purpose.
