How to get your attention? Editor wanted please.

Hello

I am trying to make my stories better and would appreciate some help.

Mainly, I write BDSM, Fetish, Exhibitionist, Romance and one I can't find a category for, True stories.

The first one up for editing is a medical fetish/partly true story.

It's 1374 words. I tend to write about 1500 but I'm working on a longer one right now.

Typed using MS word processor.

I am in no rush to get it edited and would not hound you for a response. Due to commitments I can only get onto my computer at weekends.

I would like someone, please, to tell me how it reads and if the story line needs any tweeks. I have tried my best with spelling and grammar, reading pages of helpful hints, but nobody's perfect.

yellowbelly, 'true' is a bit of a turnoff when writing fiction. Just post a story.
Readers don't care about whether a story is 'true' or not - that's why there's no lit category for it. Just write erotic fiction.

Also, circa 3,400 words is a single Lit page and much less is generally a vignette or 'flash fiction'. 1,400 words won't allow you to develop a plot or reach a conclusion. This is probably not going to get you a high rating with readers.

"Truth" is for Penthouse Letters.

These stories are more along the lines of the outlandish topics you'd find accompanying a Juggs pictorial.

It doesn't matter if you are writing an autobiography about jogging nude; place it in "Exhibitionism." You may very well have had awesome sex with your sister, but put it under "Incest" anyway. We don't want to know that you're really banging your sis; we want to put ourselves into your story, imagining we're banging our own flesh and blood.

If you find that your stories are too short, then contact an editor to help you figure out what is happening. Your stories shouldn't be any less than 3 pp in a Word doc.

Elfin thanks for your advice, it's in for submission.

I tried to make it longer, at least it's over the 750 word minimum.

I have read some of the stories on here and see what you mean regarding true stories. Some stories on here are so outlandish, they could never in a million years come true.

I think the question of a story being true or not is completely redundant.

In my own experiance truth can occasionally be stranger than fiction, and may well make for a more realistic dersription but whether or not a story is actually true or not is completely beside the point for the readers and of no real interest.

All the readers want to do is read a good story which might get them off LOL.

Anyway the story is now on here, hurrah! I would still like an editor to help with my next submission. At least you would now have a better idea of my style of writing.

The story you have written is in no way BDSM. I wrote a bondage story and thought it was BDSM when I didn't understand what BDSM was. Then I finally "got it".

Thank you AsylumSeeker. I do know what BDSM is as I am a sub myself.

I did not claim my first story was ever in that catagory and it was accordingly posted under the Fetish catagory where it belongs.

I think the more realistic a story is, the better it is, but that's not the same thing as a true story. At the same time, if someone says a story is true, then everything in the story sounds like it's nowhere near being true, it's not as good (in my opinion).
