LaVey's teachings promoted “indulgence”, “vital existence”, “undefiled wisdom”, “kindness to those who deserve it”, “responsibility to the responsible” and an "eye for an eye" code of ethics, while shunning "abstinence" based on guilt, "spirituality", "unconditional love", "pacifism", "equality", "herd mentality" and "scapegoating". A true follower of the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth cares about everyone. Unfortunately their are many who claim to be good Christians but are not. Those Westboro types are a good example of bad Christians.
My mum said her prayers every night before she went to bed, believed even the smallest of creatures had a soul, didn't care if she went to an Anglican or Catholic service and believed that charity was the best virtue. I judged all Christians by her example.
I myself think charity is the best virtue. In thought and deed. I admit to struggling with that though when I see and hear people I want to throw a brick at.

Just look at eyer. He is a good christian. Or at least a good example of one. Same with Mike Pence. Same with Rick Santorum.
All the atheists I know care more about people, all people, than the christians I know.
I do like this Pope. He seems like a good guy.

As an archbishop he was well known for trying to be Christian in the sense of being really nice to everybody -- meaning, a lot of outreach to Jews and Muslims and others.

The main problem is, most people and certainly you, do not know what could have been, what it took and what it takes now. You get things and think you were always entitled to them, you were born into 'rights'. Ha.
Sure.. that's good. let the entry level start that way, birth into 'rights'. Great progress that is. I wonder though if you are able to imagine what your birth and life would be like, if you were born into some other context. I wonder if you ever asked yourself questions like 'what if', and went back in history and studied.
But, only a Christian nation today, has our Lord Jesus with open arms saying welcome, gives everyone rights, and makes sure people treat each other right as best that can be. Only Jesus dear.

So - yes I know what the Society of Jesus is and it is significant that we find ourselves in the world with first Jesuit Pope. Too bad Pence and Santorum and the rest are at odds with him. Too much Christ and not enough Christianity in him I guess. Which is the precisely the point I am making about your so-called Christian Nation.

I guess it is how you define what a good Christian is. I honestly have to disagree with your statement about all atheists caring about people. Until I talked to people like you I felt nothing but anger and hostility from atheists. Been treated bad too. Didn't appear to be a caring for Christians or for people with other points of view. The anger is what I have never understood.
No one is born with a religion, it's something you have to pick up.

All the Christians I know are very caring folk. Don't know any God Hates Fags types. Not sure if they even exist up here. If they do, they keeps their heads down and mouths shut.
Grew up in rural area with 1 Catholic church, 2 Anglicans, 1 Dutch Reform and a United church. Catholic church was twice the size of the Anglican ones. Catholic and Dutch Reform the only ones filled to capacity on Sunday.
Catholic church had all the youth dances. I'm betting that 75% of the girls I grew up with were Catholic. Quite a few Dutch Catholics in the area too.

Just talking about the ones I know - or maybe better said those with whom I choose to associate. Lots of giving, lots of support for secular institutions that try and help people (food banks, mentoring programs, clothing for people to go on interviews, etc). There is a real push in the community to show that atheists are people too
The anger I have seen seems to stem from people that feel like the zealots want to tell them how to live, what to do with their bodies, how to determine right from wrong even when it contradicts what they feel and believe.
The Christians I know (not all but most) want to prevent people that love each other from marrying, want to tell gay people that either they are making a bad choice or that they can be rehabilitated at a "camp". They also say a lot of un-Christian things about others.Stuff like that.

Interesting lie you tell yourself. God is real and so is satan. God has spoken to me and so has satan. I have seen demonic creatures and have been attacked by them due to this ministry. Because satan doesn't want the truth going out.
