I not saying religion is a bad thing or a good thing. But so many wars have been waged in its name.

While, I think in most "religious" wars, the religious cause was a pretext for fighting a war for more worldly gains, like control of territory or trade routes. The Crusaders went to the Holy Land to fight for the cross, but also to carve out fiefdoms for themselves in Palestine.

Which one?

Church of satan. they got their own bible and everything. Google it.

Maybe. Pretty low key church. Quick search doesn't show anything beyond a simple FB page.

I'm not a Satanist. I'm an agnostic polytheistic pagan. I guess.

hehe

Isn't it wonderful, how one can move to a Christian found land, Christian majority land still, and can be Zoroastrian even.

He will forever remain King. Every heart knows it. Even when they speak against.

Im not saying all wars are over it. But a lot have. I mean look at the state of the middle east right now. My father told me when I was young. That there's two things you never talk about in a bar. Religion and politics cause people are willing to die or kill for those two things. So its best to steer clear of those subjects all together.

In medieval days the educated were churchmen. Many an early scientists, astronomer and philosopher were priests.

Religion makes a great shield but a lousy sword.

If you believe that, what are you doing here?! ;)

Well, of course, the answer is obvious: This is not a bar, and nobody can reach through your monitor and punch you.

If only.

I don't think I said anything at all about what I believe. All I said was this subject is touchy and you prove that by wishing you could punch me through the monitor.

My life goes on in endless song
Above Earth's lamentations
Beneath the real, though far-off hymn
I hail the new creation
Above the tumult and the strife
I hear its music ringing
It sounds an echo in my soul
How can I keep from singing?

And though the tempest loudly roar
I know the truth it liveth
And though the darkness round me close
Songs in the night it giveth
No storm can shake my inmost calm
While to that rock I'm clinging
Since Love is Lord o'er Heaven and Earth
How can I keep from singing?

Love that Hymn! Good Oldie! I do drive my family crazy with singing. Well, I guess actually Humming! I do it a lot And don't even realize it!

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want
He makes me down to lie
Through pastures green He leadeth me the silent waters by
With bright knives he releaseth my soul

He maketh me to hang on hooks in high places
He converteth me to lamb cutlets
For lo, He hath great power, and great hunger
When cometh the day we lowly ones

Through quiet reflection, and great dedication
Master the art of karate
Lo, we shall rise up
And then we'll make the bugger's eyes water

It was the snake, Satan. Our saviour and deliverer from the captive animal life of the Garden Of Eden. Before Satan talked Eve into partaking of the Tree of Knowledge we were like pets kept in a zoo. No knowledge of good or evil. How does one make human rational decisions? Animals don't know good or evil. Innocent yes but sentient?

I wasn't going to reply to this, but I will reply like this:

This is an illusion.

Now, as much as I know you probably believe it is as realistic and logical and rational cause without this & that, then experience wouldn't come and knowledge wouldn't come etc.

But, it's actually a deception. Your childhood years and upbringing and the environment then, and today, make for the deception to not affect you, and that is because Jesus Christ has already vanquished the snake. So did St George, and St Michael.

Without Christ, that snake and tree would send you directly to hell.

It is hard though to show someone living in Malibu for ex, or even London ON, how a Zambian cancer patient exactly feels.

It's insidious, and hard to see. And Jesus already saved you from having to live that.

Yes, even if you never were a Christian in the first place.

Hard_Rom is saying that it is better to be out of the Garden of Eden, because humans in it would not be fully sentient. That might be debatable, but how is it an illusion or deception?

And this how you deceive. hehe.. so funny.

No, it is not what he said. It is partly what he said.

He started by making a major claim: 'satan is our saviour'.

You posts are just like CNN. Half-truths deceptive pieces.

Matthew 25:31-34New International Version (NIV)

The Sheep and the Goats

31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.

I meant my response as a joke. I admit Leviticus is not my most read book. ;) When I don't know the reference verses and don't want to google, I joke it must be in Leviticus. I'm a riot aren't I? ;)

I doubt anyone who was not a rabbi has ever read Leviticus.

Then why so much reference to satan and the symbolism, satanic bible, rituals?

I guess it's because Satan is kewl, and good for freaking out Christians. LaVey once described the CoS as "Ayn Rand with trappings," and Objectivism is a strictly materialist and atheist philosophy.

Satanism is not strictly inverted Christianity, BTW. If Christians are exhorted to do good to their neighbors, Satanists are not exhorted to cause harm and mischief. Satanism is inverted Christianity in that it rejects humility as a virtue and substitutes pride.
