How to get an alert every time someone posts in a forum?

I learned today that JBJ likes to sometimes post in the BDSM personals section, but I've never seen any of his posts there and I feel like I've missed out.

So, my question is how do I go about setting up an alert for every time JBJ posts in the BDSM forum?

Please post only if you have actual tips to provide; smart-assery will not be appreciated.

And don't send me links to this and that helpful sticky. Either post steps on how to... or shaddup.

I'm pretty sure that there is no alert system set up for this forum. I've thought about that, too. It would be nice if there was a smartphone app for when new posts are made to certain threads, though it would probably take a lot of resources to make. I'm not sure the admin of Lit have the funds nor the manpower to make such an app.

You can wander over to his profile page and click on the "find all POSTS by JamesBCrumudgeon" or "find all Threads started by JamesBCrumudgeon", and then subscribe to the threads (you don't even have to post in the threads, if you just want to lurk) and observe Lit's self-proclaimed everything-expert and Google-Seach-Diploma accredited mythomaniac at work.

Be careful, he has tendency to form uncomfortable "bonds" with other posters. He currently is crushing on me, seeing me in every thread. Giving me the heebie-jeebies something fierce.

Good idea, but waaay too much work for me. I want something simple like ticking on a check box and voila insta alert everytime JBJ posts anything in the BDSM personals.
