Ok guys, I have seriously been considering a piercing. Now my question is, how do I go about finding someone to do this without being scared spitless that it will go wrong and end up doing more damage?

Check out the piercers in your area in the phone book.
Look for people that have email addys. (Most, these days).
Email all that look interesting with a description of what you want done.
Ask them your questions in an honestly inquiring manner.
If you're scared something will go wrong and you'll end up damaged, tell them.
Ask how many of the same kind of piercings they've done.
Ask if you can maybe come in and watch them do one or two before getting yours. (A caution: we all have different pain tolerances. If i went on what other people sometimes see as painful, i'd never even have had my ears pierced! You know your own levels best.)

Be open and honest with the piercers, especially if you're going to get the piercing done in a "sensitive" spot (nipples, labia, clit hood).

It will hurt less than you imagine and hardly anything ever goes wrong. Go for it, babes!

When I decided to have some piercing done, I looked in the yellow pages. I found a place that had a respectable street address, and a good-sized well-done ad. I called them first, and they were very up-front about the procedure, the costs, and the degree of pain.

I took my husband with me, and I knew that if the place looked at all shady, we would leave. Fast.

Well, it was a really nice place, clean, nice furnishings and displays. The people were very clean, followed all safety procedures.

So, I had the piercings done. And I really wish I'd had it done years ago.

I'm going back for a tattoo, too. :)

They had some signs up... "Piercing... Just do it."
