Hello,
I recently wrote a story inspired by the work of a kinky illustrator. The artist has publicly invited others to borrow from and build on their characters and ideas, and I credited them in the intro of my story as an inspiration, along with a link to their Twitter account.
My story was rejected for the third-party link. My question is, is there any way I can credit them (e.g. by giving their very google-able profile name) without falling afoul of this policy? I can understand why this policy exists, and I could just delete the whole acknowledgment, but I would prefer to be able to give them credit. In my story I simply said, basically, "this artist is awesome and worth checking out."
In case it matters, the illustrator in question and their reply to my request to confirm they still welcomed adaptations:
