How to change "Section" of your Story

Hi there,

I have a few stories in "Loving Wives". At the time of my first story, I was under the impression it was "the cuckold" section. Even though it IS technically a cuckold scenario, it deals more with the sexual frustration of the man whom is husband to a woman that becomes more and more sexually selfish, but he's turned on by this selfishness and stays with her. He worships her for being so dominating.

The thing is, it also has foot/sneaker fetish/worship, which is KILLING the rating (yes I allow voting & comments). Everyone is telling me it should be in the "FETISH" section. Some people just aren't into that, which is fine, but I get votes of 1 out of 5 just because of it.

So I'm wondering if it's possible to switch it, or if I re-submit it under the new section, but then I'll 2 stories exactly the same in 2 different sections.

Thanks a lot for the help!

I think you can send a message to Laurel to ask about this. Ultimately, she has the final call about the category in which the story is published, so she may or may not grant your request.

Loving Wives is a frustrating category in which to publish because no category has such picky or volatile readers, or readers who are more likely to punish you for transgressing their peculiar rules and boundaries with bad comments and ratings.

Resubmit it with exactly the same title plus the word EDIT. Nominate the category you want it moved to, and put a note to the editor asking for a category change. That's the quickest way to get it in front of Laurel, with the story in question there in her queue. I know folk who have successfully moved stories doing it this way (rather than sending a PM).

I've done it as Simon describes it. If I were to do it again I'd do it as EB describes it.

One thing to keep in mind is that when the story is moved it probably will not appear as a new story in the new category. When Laurel moved mine she said it would work that way, and it did. There were hardly any new votes and hardly any change in score.

Another thing to keep in mind is that Fetish is a small and not very high-scoring category. All-in-all, you could be better off leaving it where it is. At least it gets attention in LW.

Correct - it just changes the category code in the database, it doesn't reset the story to the new category front page. All scores and comments survive the move, though.

In support of what is said above. I've had similar experiences in LW with my first story published ages ago (and that was just a bi-male/wife threesome:confused:). One of my most recent touched on the "cuck" and had a bisexual aspect too. I thought Fetish would be the place to go, but the views are far less and while it wasn't "flamed" it had mixed reception.

The one option not yet mentioned is; Leave it where it is. It will get a lot of views, mine there has slowly climbed in rating over the years and yours probably will too , you can delete any and all offensive comments. Then learn from it and craft the next one with a little better understanding of the dynamics in the various categories.

Another thing nobody has mentioned is that "Move it to fetish" is a talking point of the anti-cuck camp in their bid to have all cuckold/wittol fantasy eliminated from the category.

Remove the foot fetish elements, and you'd still be getting the same comments. Cuckold/wittol is what they're calling a fetish.

I’m assuming that you are referring to this story:

https://www.literotica.com/s/sink-or-swim-ch-03-asphyxia

I haven’t read the stories but the first thing that comes to mind is that you should combine them as one story because they are very short and I know from personal experience that chapters that short don’t go down well. I would suggest that you combine them and submit as a new story but leaving in the fetish aspects and see what happens.

Send in each chapter as and edit asking Laurel, in the comments box, to delete it and tell her that it’s because you are going to submit it as a new story combining all three chapters as one. She’ll delete them and your post new story will go in as a new story and you’ll get another bite of the cherry. I originally wrote this story:

https://www.literotica.com/s/bibi-and-will

as one story and then made the mistake of submitting it as five short chapters. None got higher than a 4.00. I did as I’ve advised you and the rating, at the moment, is 4.71.

You’ve got nothing to lose.

That's actually a great idea Emirus.

But the thing is, it's not done yet, it's going to be 5 chapters.

What I'll do is submit the 4th when it's done, then when I get the 5th done, I'll just submit the whole thing like you said and ask to remove the 4 previous chapters as they've been grouped up together.

Or, complete the story as a single thing and submit it once in the now preferred category, without chapters.

Clearly, you want a new set of readers across your story, so why bother with all this chapter, chapter, consolidate, change stuff? Why don't you write the complete story, once, submit it where you really want it, once, and remove the old stuff from the category you no longer want to feed? It will make your life easier, less work for Laurel, and less confusing for readers.

I didn’t read your original post properly and thought the three chapters were the complete story which is why I gave you the advice I did. Now I realise you’ve got another two chapters to come then I agree with EB66. Pull the first three chapters and then when you’ve finished writing the story submit it in full at that time.
