How representative is the Lit population?

Do you think the sexual appetite and interests, and the proportions of people that express these interests, are representative of the population at large? Or do you think there are some groups - sexuality, fetish - that are overrepresented here?

Does the anonymity let us be who we really are, or is there a natural self selection to this community that draws in certain sexual interests?

I think men are far more interested in porn than women which accounts for the fact that there are very few women here. The type of man who is interested in porn is older than the rest of the population so again it is not representative. Of course there are some people who are here for other reasons but they are few in number.

No.. In fact, I don't think the views that are presented are even truly representative of the people who post here. What do I mean by this? Well, I think the VAST MAJORITY of the lit members who are registered as women are actually men. ..So when they respond to a thread like, "Women, do you prefer huge cocks?" or "Women, do you enjoy cum on your face?" ...you'll glean nothing relevant from the thread.

It is so difficult to determine an accurate answer. I have never knowingly had a gay or bi friend. All of my friends have been straight.

I have never personally encountered any kinks or fetishes. My entire sex life has been very vanilla, which may be why I am here, to get some variety and explore others' sexuality. Most of my wife's friends are post menopause and sexless (or nearly so).

I suspect, but have no evidence, that the active Lit population are 1% outliers from mainstream sexuality.

As for the discussion on gender, let me just say there is zero chance of winning if you are a woman and feel the need to defend your gender on here, especially if you have non-standard sexual proclivities and/or history. Either proof is demanded or people assume you are lying. Fuck it. Either I'm believed or I'm not. It doesn't matter, because being believed is not required for Lit to be a very much needed outlet for my non-standard sexuality. And I know in my heart I would not be able to maintain the life I have without this outlet.

I’m fairly new here. I don’t think you need to defend yourself. I looked at your profile and have read some of your posts. I have no reason to believe you’re not truthful or genuine.

But I'll admit I have lied about details I thought might reveal too much about me. Some of those I look back on and wonder why I bothered, like changing the color and year of my car. But at the time it seemed risky, like someone was going to guess who I was by finding my car.

And I also admit to being a bit more... dramatic about my past and proclivities when I was younger. It got me more attention, which is what I craved then. Now, just putting shit out to the universe seems good enough.
