Well, 1) I don't have a phone card, and 2) I've only talked to 2 people I've met from Lit on the phone. The frist one called me, and the second one was a local call.

Wherever there is a phone, and you want to call long distance. Call the number on the card, enter a "pin number", then the phone number, and it's all charged to your prepaid card. So yes.

Ah thanks I don't use them, I have a busness account that allows me to ring places like the USA or UK for example and talk for about 2 hours for less than the price of a kids happy meal from McDonalds

I have 2 of them and they only get used for one person......We try to keep in touch and stay caught up with one another, sometimes that's difficult to do over the computer, and sometimes it's just good to hear that special someone's voice. Phone Cards just make it a lot cheaper and easier to stay in touch with those we care about!!
