How moderated are these forums?

General's clearly a hellhole to rival, if not /b/, at least IJBM, but even Authors' Hangout has had a lot of flamebait threads I would have expected to see locked. What, if anything, do the moderators intervene for? (And if they do intervene, is there a way to request moderator intervention--say, for some of the spam threads just below this one?)

Virtually nothing gets moderated here. In very rare cases, threads started by member names with no posted stories may be moved to the General board. Other than that, advertising spam will get deleted.

That's pretty much it.

If you were to go to a mod about the behavior of certain members you are told that is what the ignore feature is for. My wife was told this when she had an issue with some sack of shit from the GB who was harassing her in every forum she posted in.
