How many votes per 000 readers?

I'll bet you pay attention to your royalty checks, though.
They are done by wire transfer. And I don't receive any stats on my marketplace stories. I could, I suppose, but they wouldn't mean much to me. They wouldn't change anything I do rather than spend time sifting stats.

Just ran mine and RR converts 1 vote for every 93 views. Dark 1 in 133. Les 1 in 150. Overall it's 1 in 110.

Going back to the last time I ran a full track and did that math ( too lazy to dig through more recent stat downloads where I didn't pop that formula in ) in 2019 the numbers were:

RR 1 in 98. Dark 1 in 133. Les 1 in 150. Overall 1 in 115.

Going back to 2018

RR 1 in 101. Dark 1 in 134. Les 1 in 152. Overall 1 in 119.

That's been the pattern over the years. My ratio ever so slightly improves year over year. If you go back all the way to 2011, which was the first time I included that in my tracks, it's:

RR 1 in 160. Dark 1 in 199. Les 1 in 216. Overall 1 in 192.

That's uncanny - in the last four years, your ratios are almost identical for each account.

Which is one good reason why data like this can be meaningful, because amongst other things, it says readers are very, very predictable in their voting habits, which suggests by extension a fairly high reliability in what they vote. It's just a pity so few bother to vote. In most data sets, 1% would be noise, here, it's reader behaviour 101.

Part of that is lack of production. In years where I'm producing more, my ratio improves quite a bit more.

With some multi-chapter stuff finished and in editing for Dark and stuff for Les almost in the editing pipeline, plus a slew of almost finished RR stuff, I'll probably see a bump next year.

Your fans are certainly loyal to your novels, is what that tells me. That's an insane ratio!
Like I said, I can't explain it.

When looking at my other novels, the votes average around 5% of the views. I'm sure the percentage for this one will level out at some point in the future, but for less than a month, your description fits - "insane".

I've never been able to work it out - there is just no consistency or trends I can decipher.

My most viewed story at 176,000 views has 295 votes. A 1:596 ratio.

Another recent one has had just under 10k views and has 324 votes at a ratio of 1:30.

Of 59 stories, only four have a ratio of less than 1:100

Comments is an even worse minefield!

Usually about 1%, some a bit under and some a bit over. With the exception of one that didn’t get much attention, but that’s outliers for you (I wrote it long ago and I suppose it shows lol).

Just off the top of my head I would say on average ... one vote for every 106.6 page views
Ok, I cheat, I'm an excel nerd and I have it doing all kinds of math magic for me

I know I should have learned more Access when I had the chance but I was an Excel and Word instructor and troubleshooter and was told by Microsoft "Hands off of Access, we pay a lot of people a lot of money to support that."

I'm not even going to try and explain it, but my recent story, 1990 has 441 views as of right now, with 307 votes. In comparison, my Valentine's Day story has 47,700 views and 656 votes

Feel free to do the math.
My Valentines didn't get as many views and votes as you, but it's still my most viewed story out of the box so the readers were really after this contest. As for votes... my "friends" were waiting for me and I can only hope for a sweep

I write in a few categories. I find Loving wives have very vocal comments along with many views. Many rate the stories based upon content rather than quality. I must confess, I tend to read only those stories that rate a 3.5 or above unless I know the author.
in other categories, I get a high rating with comparatively few views. I am guessing that is based more on my 'fans' than new readers.

FYI
The ratio of views to votes is 1.62% over 44 stories in different categories. Runs from Nov 2021 to present Jan 2023. None of this holds much meaning, given all the remarks about clicks, clacks, and williewack comments, plus something thrown in about latitude, longitude, and some attitude.

Average score: 4.46. views: 589,354 votes: 9,558
