How Many different categories?

Hey writers, I was just curious how many different categories of Lit you have written in and gotten published to the site and what are they? I am a new writer (sort of) and was just curious! Thanks!

Good for you! There is a part of me that wants to write in every category. That's my goal anyway. Though not sure I would be good at some of them...

Although this account name is used mainly for Gay Male stories, I have 23 different categories under it (and never have been entered in the Survivor's Contest, which prompts wide-ranging category use):

Two so far.

I would love to contribute to them all, but the problem is that I have a really hard time writing about stuff I know nothing about. For instance I doubt that I could weave a credible tale about gay or lesbian love which wouldn't make actual gay and lesbian readers roll on the floor with laughter.

So my main category will probably remain Loving Wives...

I've written in just about all the categories, with the obvious exceptions of BDSM and Lesbian. No particular reasons to exclude those categories; I just haven't had inspiration for those kinds of stories. I do, however, have a lesbian couple in a recent Erotic Horror series I've posted.

A few of my forays into genres like Non-Erotic, Fetish and Romance have been one-off ideas that just seemed to fit better into those categories than anywhere else. I tend to favor Erotic Couplings, Sci-Fi, Non-Human and Erotic Horror.

At least, at the moment.

Eight, so far. Looking at the list, I can only see three or four more that I'm likely to venture into. But who knows, I never planned to write in some of the categories I write now. And sometimes a story idea that is intended for one category ends up going somewhere completely different.

I've probably only posted in four or five, as I mostly stick to romance and the occasional nonhuman story. I recently posted in Lesbian, though, and that seemed to go over pretty well. There are a lot of categories I am either not interested in or don't have the background for and don't have time to research, so I don't write those.

recently chain stories as part of a writing exercise of sorts.

A lot of authors enjoy testing or stretching themselves by writing across the board. I give them credit for doing so, but for me I would rather stay in the categories that interest me.

The only story I have I wrote just to say I did was the loving wives story because LW is a unique experience to say the least and everyone should give it a go at some point.

I have two left I would like to try: Lesbian and Interracial. Lesbian I will be releasing shortly, but no interracial bunny as of yet

14 so far. I have three more categories that I'm developing stories for. In six of the categories my stories have done exceedingly well, only in 2 have I dropped bombs.

I'll have to look. With more than 200 stories as oggbashan and jeanne_d_artois, I'm not sure.

Edited: 19 categories as oggbashan; 7 categories as jeanne. Both have produced 'Poetry' as well.

hmm, more than I would have thought, but the Fetish ones could have also fallen in TS/CD. I think I'll probably end up trying to do at least one of every category, but will probably end up with most of my stories in just three or four categories, if that.

But that's only if I keep writing, lately I've been spending most of my time browsing the AH and haven't written more than a paragraph every four or five days. LOL, the continuity of the stories I'm working on is suffering.

I have written in 22 categories and not very well in all of them but I am trying the survivor challenge this year. I suspect most of mine are in the BDSM and Non consent/Relectance categories at present.

But i hope by the end of the year to have a few ore categories attempted.
