I have disagreed with the site over the content of a story. I did acknowledge that I was wrong, [finally] and have withdrawn the offending chapter altogether rather than cut out the offending parts. Having cut out the parts that the moderators thought inappropriate, I re-read the chapter, and it made very little sense to the whole story. I thought it was better to start the story from the second chapter than try rewriting the entire story. I now find I have waited close to two weeks for any further parts of the story to be published. As well as another story being rejected outright.

I understand that there are rules, and they are clearly defined, however, who can I turn to, to get a sensible and reasonable response?

Is two weeks a short passage of time to be published, or am I being punished?

You'll get more response to this kind of question in the Authors' Hangout.

But to answer your question: two weeks isn't out of the ordinary. On top of being reviewed for inappropriate content, stories are also being checked for use of AI. And presumably yours are being scrutinised a bit more closely just now.

Send a DM to Laurel and ask her whether your story has slipped through the cracks. You probably won't get a reply, but it usually speeds up the process.

Good luck!

My stories on average take two days to post. Since switching to using Word and the grammar and spellcheck I yet to get a rejected story. Just make sure all parties are 18 and older.

Yes, I understand the 'strict' over 18 rules, this is where I came unstuck. Even though there was no sex between under 18s the simple fact I mentioned a boy getting an erection while watching younger teenagers in skimpy bikinis in a pool, got me into trouble. I scraped the whole chapter rather than try to write around that section. It was rather important to the whole story.

We have reviewed your submission and have determined your story is too stupid to publish here. Thank you and try again
