How is this not disparaging to blacks?

Maybe if you had any examples of illegals voting (or even trying to), you'd have a point. As it is, there simply isn't any evidence whatsoever that voter ID is necessary.

Game.

Home invasions and car thefts do happen in substantial numbers. Voter fraud does not. I don't see anything funny about either of those.

Set.

It also occurs to me that opponents of gun control always say we shouldn't bother because the criminals wouldn't obey the law anyway. Wouldn't that logic also apply to voter ID laws?

Match.

From the article:
ā€œA higher percentage of Black Veterans currently receive disability compensation benefits than white Veterans for mental health conditions (21.7% vs. 12.7%),ā€ the assessment said. ā€œOn average, Black Veterans also apply for disability compensation at higher rates and receive slightly higher disability ratings from VA than white Veterans. However, Black Veterans have lower grant rates than white Veterans for mental health conditions (70.3% vs. 76.0%). … In response to these new findings, VA will [be] taking immediate and aggressive action to eliminate this gap and ensure that Black Veterans get the benefits they deserve.ā€

So what is it you're wanting to say here?

Common sense approach;

Finally, multiple experts support that simple signature verification can be an easy avenue for fraud. Faking a signature of a family member, an acquaintance, or a colleague is not difficult. In states with no signature verification requirements, or in states that automatically mail out ballots to the entire voter roll, it is even easier to commit fraud this way. James Green, a forensic document examiner, notes that among other items, election documents are ā€œespecially vulnerable to fraudā€ (Green, 2022). Dr. Linton A. Mohammed, a forensic document examiner, testified before a New Hampshire court that effective signature comparison requires 10 signature samples ā€œat a minimumā€ to account for variability (Stern, 2018). Signature requirements are not enough to truly and completely protect the voter’s identity.

THE BEST ALTERNATIVE: VOTER ID REQUIREMENTS

Requiring voter ID for mail-in ballots instead of signature verification can provide several benefits to ensure the integrity of the voting process. First, voter ID can provide a higher level of objectivity compared to signature verification. With voter ID, a physical document exists that can be checked and verified, which is harder to forge or duplicate than a signature. This requirement can provide a stronger safeguard against voter fraud by ensuring that only eligible voters are casting their ballots.

Second, voter ID can increase confidence in the election process. By ensuring that only eligible voters can cast their ballots, voter ID can help reduce the perception of voter fraud and increase public trust in the electoral process. According to a July 2023 Rasmussen poll, 78% of voters favor requiring the voter to provide their driver’s license number or the last four digits of their Social Security number. The poll also shows that more than half of voters believe that enacting this measure would significantly reduce election fraud.

Finally, implementing voter ID can help ensure consistency in the voting process. Currently, different states have varying requirements for signature verification, which can lead to confusion and inconsistencies in the election process. Voter ID can provide a standard requirement across all states that adopt it, therefore making the voting process more uniform and reliable.

Remember, Joe eulogized one of America's notorious KKK members.
What the Biden administration is trying to figure out is why Black veterans are more often denied disability benefits for PTSD, as compared to white veterans. This is a legitimate question..

According to a 2017 internal Veterans Affairs report, Black veterans are more likely to be denied VA benefits for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) than white veterans. Between 2011 and 2016, Black veterans were denied 57% of disability benefits for PTSD, compared to 43% for white veterans. According to a 2023 report, Black veterans have the lowest approval rating among all groups for disability claims. The report also states that Black male veterans are approved 3 to 22 percentage points less often than white males for nine of the 10 conditions the VA commonly evaluates, including PTSD.

The question I have is why is the right trying politicize this instead of finding a way to help those who have served. Why is manipulating a health concern so it gets votes more important than saving the lives of those who have served?

The suicide rate per 100,000 service members was 28.9 in the Army, 20.6 in the Navy and 19.7 in the Air Force; no one died by suicide in the Space Force, according to the Pentagon’s data. In total, 61 active duty Marines and six Marine reservists died by suicide in 2022.

While statistics and numbers are important … when it’s your person, your loved one, that’s a statistic of one, this is something the right cannot comprehend. The right will do whatever it can to twist the numbers for political gain than get these persons the help they need to save their lives.

An absentee ballot is totally different than just flooding the rolls with mail in ballots. An absentee ballot is a hardship ballot requested, only one is sent to the soldier or anyone requesting requesting it . And yes I did serve overseas. Mail in ballots should be banned, people should get off their ass and go vote. Election Day should be one day and declared a national holiday.

You’re willfully playing with semantics.
How is an absentee ballot sent?
When an election worker views an absentee or mail in ballot (I’m using your distinction here) are they counted differently?

You seem to have a severe misunderstanding of how voting works. Whether in person or with a mail in or absentee ballot, the election worker marks off the name once they match it with the corresponding address given. There is no flooding of the rolls. If I get a mail in ballot And send it in and then I walk into my polling place, then when my mail in ballot comes in and they see that I have already voted THEN I am subject to legal repercussions. That would seem pretty stupid for a person to do though. And you know what? It is. It’s a pretty dumb way to go to jail.

This is probably the best thing I’ve ever seen you say. What I’d like for you to do is to take the next step and ask yourself - who or what type of politicians are preventing a voter holiday?
