how is this even...?!

OK, it's a christian academy. Explains much.

You know how you'll be watching a movie, and vampires are flying around, and one throws a stick away, and in the next shot he has the stick again, and you go, "Hey, he just threw that stick away!" and the person you're with goes, "Oh, and it was so realistic up until then? Flying vampires are OK, having that stick back isn't"?

That's like this. The kids are at a Christian academy in South Carolina. The dinosaur test is the first time the guy realized they were were being taught a bunch of garbage? The living for 900 years and food changing form and dead people rising from holes and trees talking to people didn't tip him off that something was off?

You want to teach your kids about the magic zombie in the sky, fine. You teach it instead of science, you get prosecuted for child abuse.

Oh so it is just for the lies Sean doesn't like!

Lying to your kids is a strong American tradition and one of the last few freedoms we Americans have...

Now I know your "progressive" lmfao...omg that's funny...anyhow...instinct is to persecute those you, Sean the crack head from who gives a shit across the pond, disagree with "line item" style, but that's not how we do shit in America mmmkay??

We got thing's like FREEDOM mister

You know why Hancock signed his name so big? Because fuck you Sean, that's why. Here...have some freedom fries, and don't forget to thank us for not speaking German on 9/11....

I disagree with the meme....that's deff a McWinning.

There's a pretty clear difference I think between teaching Religious Studies and Science.

The outrage isn't over "Oh, they're teaching kids a bunch of BS", it's that they're teaching a bunch of BS as fact, vs faith. You go to a class called Religion, you get told about Adam and Eve and you have the contextual awareness to take that with a grain of salt. You go to Science class, you expect that what you're going to be taught is...well, science.

Kids I tutor can believe in the crucifixion and at the same time understand how evolution works. I don't believe that there's a conflict between believing in God and being taught about the Bible and the faith and at the same time understanding science. There are a ton of scientists (real, rational ones, not extremist crackjobs) who at the same time believe deeply in God.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Those who feel like they need to defend their faith against science, have piss weak faith.
