How do you delete a thread?

I've worked on a few roleplays over the years here at Lit and I've enjoyed them, but well my one partner has lost interest in doing anything with these threads other than let them gather dust on the net. Hey such as life and I just feel sad for her and what she's going through. Just lost contact and I feel empty, but that is a another discussion...*sigh*

My question is are there ways to delete threads? I'm an administrator on another site and have the power to delete offensive posts or whole threads. Is that possible here? I heavily edited one and saved the material I'll use, but like an artist I want to throw the whole canvas out.

I have plans for a lot of new writing this year and want to make it happen. Any suggestions and thought would be helpful. I know moving on sucks I just need to tools right now.

No way to delete them. You can go back and edit all your posts so they just have frogs in them, but if you were quoted, those posts stay quoted.

:p

Threads aren't deleted, but they can be moved to a hidden forum by moderators if there's good reason to do so (e.g. they violate the site rules).

What you would potentially need to do is PM the moderator of the forum each thread is in. Give them a link to the thread(s) and politely request removal of said thread(s).

However, you have to realize that doing so would be causing extra work for our already overworked volunteer mods, and you don't really have a compelling reason for why you want the threads removed. For instance, "I accidentally posted some personal info that people then quoted" would be a compelling reason. "I want them removed because I just don't like knowing they're buried in the forum since my RP partner is busy with RL, but I've already saved everything I need to from the threads" is not a compelling reason, it's a self-indulgent one, IMHO. Now if you have a good relationship with the mod(s) you're asking, they may very well indulge you if/when they have time to do so. However, it's usually much wiser to save your favor chips for when you truly need to call them in.

It's your choice, but since you've already edited and taken what you want from the threads in question, I'd advise you to just let them die and forget about them. :)
