I have some little wipes kept in little packages (they look just like the packages for condoms) that I use for cleaning my glasses. Would they work on my scanner?

Hope this is the right place for this...

They're just lintless paper towels soaked in isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol). They're made for cleaning glass, but not plastic. If your scanner's glass, they'll work fine.

You can also use glass cleaner and a paper towel...

I am pretty sure its glass...maybe I will just try it on a small blotch in the corner. Then see how it goes.

If it's a CRT monitor, it's glass. A flat screen is plastic. ;)

A product called 'Invisible Glass' works well on glass. Car and house windows too.

Polycarbonate plastic screens are more delicate, a damp cloth works just a well as any. Also most puter stores sell non-static cleaning cloths.

No no no. Scanner...were talking about the glass plate used to mount whatever your scanning on.

It works a bit better now. Thanks!

Damn--you did say scanner didn't you. Invisible Glass will work just fine.

(Memo to self: Never try to write and post too)

It's easiest to wait for his head to explode like a bag of blood and sop up the mess with a mop and bucket.

What?!?!!

Whats the best way to post pics here on literotica?

The easiest way is probably to use an on-line photo sharing service, such as Photobucket. Upload your picture there, click on "insert image" from the Lit toolbar, and paste the URL for the image.

I'd try "Scan Clean" sold in most scanner store throughout the mid-west.

Windex works just fine or any other glass cleaner, unless of course it has some caked on deposits of some type. Then you might have to get out the Brillo pads.

Windex is the US version of something similar in the UK. Use it SPARINGLY, little squirts and polish the glass. Or try AutoGlym automotive windshield cleaner if you have it. Brasso is a liquid metal polish and if used sparingly on a soft cloth and rubbed into the glass then polished off will work a treat. Learned that from a Xerox engineer.

Don't forget the inside....

I had some streaking on the inside of the scanner. Bad cleaning at the start? Fumes of something condensing? Who knows? But it really needed to be cleaned off.

I unscrewed the cover and carefully lifted the part with the glass plate out, cleaned it with Windex (my office cleaner of choice), made sure it was streak-free, and then equally carefully replaced it and screwed the cover back on.

If you should do this, be sure the scanner's unplugged and don't touch any of the gadgetry on the inside.

an easier way to clean out the inside of the plate is to pull out the ink cartridge draw and the paper feed tray then borrow that machine from Fantastic Voyage and shrink yourself down to about 3/4 of an inch (any taller and you'll keep bumping your head on the rollers).

Then just climb inside with your windex and a squeegee (one of those extending ones for preference) and you're all set.

Oh, and don't forget the figure hugging white one-piece for Raquel Welch.
